The jobs that people gets mostly without connections are low paying salary jobs.

We like deceiving ourselves in this country,all the people talking about skills here,do you know how many graduates out there with skills that are now into operating of POS,UBER, BOLTS and so on

What you said via the bolded statement is all lies. All the jobs i have gotten in my life never came via any connections. The salaries also has been in the ranges of 400 to 700k. The present job i do pays over 780k. I never wanted to comment but i had to due to the bolded

First one

My friend sent in my CV and I was called for an interview. The HR manager who was conducting the interview studied French and I had done some months in a French school which was on my CV. She switched the interview to French and I was responding same. Others on the panel were just watching us .

After the interview, someone on the panel said I should rest assured that I had already got the job. And I got it.


Second

It was a full time writing job and I was given a test with a topic to write on. My article was preferred by the senior writer who was supposed access us. But apparently, the group head was threatened because I was going to be working with her husband (that was what I heard later).

So, they went with someone else against the senior writer's recommendation. A month or 2 after, I was called to come resume. They had fired the group head and in turn fired the person she employed. I resumed immediately.

I was working as a security in the company. Meanwhile, my salary was 25k. 2018,one of their worker resigned and they were trying to fill the space.. i met with the operational manager and i told him that I am a graduate. he didn't believed until he asked me to provide my certificate. i presented it and the man was shocked. God so good. they did not interview me. they employed me immediately all because i have been working with them for over three years. now, my salary is 350k. glory be to God

They might be the minority though, but abeg make una come teach us how you do am .

Keep updating yourself in the industry you are interested in, try self-practice, keep applying, trust in God.

My friend was not working in the company. He just saw a vacancy online and sent my CV. So it was not a referral or recommendation.

I could have still got the chance to speak one of the languages of the world if I was the one who saw the vacancy and sent my CV myself. So relax.

There's absolutely nothing prayer cannot do...Also, your first job though may not pay much will usually be without experience....People are getting jobs everyday, just have faith in God Almighty!! But be prepared to always improve yourself once you get it....start taking courses or go back to school immediately you get the job..Just don't sit down there and relax because you have gotten a paltry job.

True my sister. I got a job with zero experience though through a friend. He was supposed to be the Production Manager and one of his aquitances a Quality Control. It was a new company which is about to start production. God showed my friend mercy, he traveled out of the country the very day the company was suppose to do NAFDAC auditing. He was suppose to do the auditing interview but he assigned me to do the job after he has given me the SOP to read and master. God just favoured me, everything went out fine without hitch. That's how I became the Quality Control of the company. It was just God's grace. Though I am learning on the job and I am trying to in prove myself too.

Most of the jobs I've done after graduation have come to me by some divine handling. Once I go through the interview, they don't ask any more questions.
It behoves on the individual to develop himself. Personal developing - what this ilk of this generation's youths don't do- is very crucial. Arsene Wenger had developed himself; he was ready. So, when the Arsenal job came in 1996, he was ready. In fact,three jobs were waiting for him: Nagoya Grampus of Japan,which he held briefly, Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

Luck. My guy got a job with MTN straight after school. Four to six years later everyone got laid off without compensation.

I think this is a good platform to share this testimony.
It happens that almost a decade ago,l just came to Lagos as a Medical lab Scientist,trying to manage at a place to keep body and soul together,60k the pay.l kept on creating other time to search for job opportunities in health n submit CVs randomly to big hospitals l know around.managing with an uncle who left his apartment for another but avnt pack fully,l and rat became best of frnds in this face me l face you room.have to endure this situation. My gf then technically break up cos he couldnt cope wt such room,happy she did later.
One particular day l was about to submit CV around some big hospitals in Lagos,that is how l had a terrible accident while trying to highlight from d Red BRT.I slip n av to b in the middle of two brt buses am highlighting from n an on-coming blue brt.its just by the grace of God tyre didnt slam my head.had little bruises n trouser torn.this accident happen around that side wen one is abt to cross to oshodi on ikorodu road..
With this incidence the only option left is for me to go back home but l told mysef l won't, it must av been am closer to getting sumtin good for that to happen.
I dust mysef up,move around,submitted one or two CV that day,few weeks later one of the two places I submitted cv n license call me for interview.
I cn remember we were 11 in number,this big hospital just need one Scientist o with specialty in Haematology of which we all Haematology Specialist after their shortlist.
Interview started with written,question plenty but l told myself this is my opportunity to make sumtin better for myself,with anger mixed wt determination to succeed l wrote the written exams.By the grace of God 5 of us scale through to next round.
Next round was practical,l did it to d best of my ability.

And finally On to Oral interview..

After a month of this l was called just like a dream to come n pick my appointment letter.

Learn skills and if you can, start a side hustle while schooling.

An employer (depending on the role), will most likely consider a fresh graduate who had a photocopy business, or a private tutorial or a taxi business etc while in school, even it is not related to the current role, than a fresh graduate with just BSc.
