When the tribunal nullified his election and called for a rerun, the governor catched in on that just to teach him a little political lesson. The governor had an understanding with the PDP candidate to support him to defeat jibrin and decamp to the Apc after the election. I think he has learnt his lessons though. Ganduje should just forgive him and move on to the bigger picture.

Glad the issues are being resolved. Ganduje and Abdulmumin Jubril are great assets to APC in Kano state. We need both of them to work together for the party in the state. They must find a middle ground and work together in the overall interest of the party and the country.

POLITICS NIGERIA, in its pursuit of accurate and timely information, has been availed on the circumstances leading to the exit of Abdulmumin Jibrin, a former member of the House of Representatives and Director General of the Bola Tinubu Campaign Organization from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Contrary to widespread belief that his defection may be as a result of a possible rejection of Asiwaju's 2023 ambition by President Muhammadu Buhari, Jibrin's problems arise from a decision not to give him the party’s ticket to return to the house of representatives.

Jibrin and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje have been at loggerheads for sometime over local political issues.

It can be recalled that Jibrin had represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2019 before losing the re-run election to the Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

However, Tinubu has been informed of the problem and has now stepped into the matter.

It was gathered that the Lagos politician has reached out to Governor Ganduje to resolve the matter. A reliable source disclosed to this newspaper that Jibrin will also be meeting with Tinubu in a matter of hours for a total resolution of the crisis.

Sometimes silence is better than comments but words like the bolded statement need a response at all times. Overlooking such freak statements is reason that politicians feel they have liberty to do whatever they like in society.

First, to a politician, particularly successful one like Mr Jibrin, decamping from a party and position that promises bright future to a position of unknown is bad decision, and not to be taken.

Second, that Jibrin has made up his mind to decamp means he has had many nights to deliberate and weigh options.

Third, beside Jibrin himself, Ganduje would have known and Shekarau and Kwankwaso would have known. Because Jibrin is head of campaign for Tinubu, Asiwaju would have known. Ganduje offered to give Kano to Asiwaju for a Kano indigene to lead campaign. Jibrin is the answer. So Jibrin is working for Ganduje to extend Asiwaju's victory to Kano and nearby States. Jibrin cannot just quit without Ganduje and Asiwaju being aware.

Fourth, Abdulmumuni Jibrin is a future Kano Gov, to be worked in under Tinubu Presidency. Similar to how he did in Lagos, projecting loyalists for succession. Jibrin quitting APC will kill that succession plan. Who leaves such a reliable future to go in wilderness looking for an ambition to nowhere? Nobody wise will do that.

There are other underlying reasons why he came out that he might decamp. The truth will soon reveal itself.
