Prof. Muhammad Waziri of Geography Dept. University of Maiduguri wrote:

If 20,000 students make a trip to the campus by public transport with an average of N200 daily, that's N4m.
If 20,000 students eat lunch at school at N200 daily, that's another N4m.
If 20,000 students photocopy 20 pages of document at N10 each daily, that's another N4m

By this, just 20,000 students inject N12m daily to the local economy.
During 3 months of strike, N1.08bn is lost by transporters, food vendors, business centres.etc.
Expand this to the actual number of students in the Universities in the country.

BUT WHO CARES?

Most of our leaders lack creativity. But not totally their faults. We can't keep voting mediocrity and expect best performance.

Why will 20,000 (about the total population of students in some of the most populous universities in the country) photocopy 20 documents each day?! That is about 100 pages per week and 400 pages per month! Are they printing books? Every single student in a university photocopying 400 pages each month. That should be about 1,200 pages per semester!

Maybe it shows the quality of what you are teaching them MR. Professor. They prefer to photocopy notes than to attend classes.
.
Mr. Professor, go and sit down, you are part of those that rigged the system for spoilage. Enjoy what you served.

Nonsense question, Going to higher institutions now in Nigeria is like wasting of time and destinies.
Our students are idle and being rendered useless and you wonder why our youths are going into crime ?
Its even better to study in a well accredited Universities in one of these African countries if you can afford it and if not, it’s better to go learn Trade, business ,skills or handwork .

Nna eh! Federal government is absolutely indifferent about ASUU and Nigerian universities, to them ASUU can go to hell. What a country!

Look at the way they responded fast to airline issue..I wish the airlines can team up with ASUU for solidarity support and embark on strike.

For where.its affecting alot of people

Business owners in school suffer . those that own a shops in the campus to sell goods and services are worst hit

Campus shuttle vehicles- noting to commute.there was a day i saw one of the car parked in a garage close to where i went to see a mechanic.the first thing that went through my mind was how is the man going to be able to feed his family well due to the strike.on a second thought, i was like could the man be using the official vehicle in the garage to help himself out.smiles

Parochial, low level thinking by a whole professor on food and small businesses.
How do we get to create outstanding services, manufactured goods to pay off the Chinese and other loans, with gutter level thoughts like this?
