Deposed Deji of Akure’s wife dies From: Tunde Raheem, Akure Wednesday, July 13, 2011 More Stories on This Section Olori Bolanle, the estranged wife of the deposed Deji of Akure, Oba Oluwadare Adepoju yesterday died in a private hospital in Lagos. Her death came 13 months after she was publicly beaten by the deposed monarch. A native of Owo from the famous Fadeyi family claimed Bolanle was said to have given up the ghost at 4.45am in an hospital in Ikeja, Lagos. The spokesman of the family, Mr. John Fadeyi said the late Olori had been suffering from renal failure for some time. He, however, said the cause of her death had not been ascertained since autopsy had not been carried out. He noted that the burial arrangement for the late Olori would be communicated to the public later. The late ex-queen is survived by two children. There had been conflicting reports about the whereabouts of the Olori, shortly after the deposition of herhusband, Oba Oluwadare Adepoju. Rumour was rife that the ex- queen had relocated to Ibadan, where she owned a boutique, another source said she had moved to Owo. The crisis between Bolanle and her husband reached a crescendo in May 2010 when she was engaged by her husband in a street fight at her residence, located opposite state Specialist Hospital, Akure. Anyone who says that the beating this lady received from her husband didn't ultimately lead to her death is only engaging in self-delusion. My people say; When an owl hoots at night, and a child dies the next morning, only a fool will not know that there must be some form of connection between the hooting of the owl and the child's death! |

An adage in yoruba says '' Eni pa oba kii gbe ilu'' meaning whoever kills the king does not stay in the community. Deposition of a king is tantamount to killing a king, as the king cannot enter that community again. Though it may not be the Olori's fault but situation concerning her led to the deposition. I hope she has been having the renal failure before the fight, if not , Oro pesi je. Kai, i pity her children. May her soul RIP. |

It is possible that the beating led to the problem. The organ might have been affected due to the beating, Maybe she only succumbed now. But we won't know until there is an autopsy. So please don't rule out murder by the barbarian king of this innocent woman. |
