Topic: Godly Character - Using Joseph As a Case Study.

We did establish last week that godly character is a behavior/conduct that demonstrate the true nature and personality of God/Christ. And that every believer must manifest it in his/her daily living.

Today, we took a look at Genesis 39:7-9, and saw how Portiohar's wife set her eyes on Joseph to commit immorality with him. But he said, "...how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

Hmmmm, we wondered how many men of this generation would react to this offer the same way Joseph did? Notwithstanding, we further noted the lessons to be learnt from the incident:

1. Every believer must walk in the fear of God, Deut 8:6; 2Cor 7:1. The fear of God is that little feeling from the inside that propels you to live godly.

2. Even in difficult times, a child of God must demonstrate godly character. There is never an excuse for any ungodly act. Joseph had so many reasons to have accepted the offer, but he didn't.

3. Every child of God must say no to sin no matter how enticing it is, Prov 1:10.

4. Every ungodly character, whether the society accepts it or not, is a sin before God.
