This ones just want their own share of the national cake, they won't alert anything. In fact, I see them running and screaming into the bush in their first encounter with Boko Haram or bandits.

This I have seen.

Any strategy designed to fight insecurity in the north will not work based on this reason:

1. Politics: insecurity is a big money making avenue for our politicians, hence, any measure taken to crush insecurity into extinction will be a futile effort.

2. Culture and religion: the core northerners are sympathetic ti their religious belief and they see jihad as a core pillar of their faith.
The belief that victim or casualty of a violence, crime, war or atrocity has been destined by their allah is a strong force that is breeding sundry bloodletting in that part of the country.

3. Economy and poverty: those jihadists are leveraging on the porosity of financial imbalance to woo the people to their side.

Anyone who can be strategic to supply the jihadists foods, water, fuel or ammunitions is automatically enriched because those criminals are able and ready to pay huge amount for those items.

The huge incentives are big carrot that entice the poor to see the criminals as alternative to the government.

Sabotage: those who would be designated to man those equipment will device means to sabotage the effective operations. Trust me, they will go as far as revealing the weakness of the measure to the enemies, thereby rendering the effectiveness useless.

Import foreign machineries from South Africa or Europe. They’ll finish the job in a few weeks. Our government is helpless and proud. Just forget the ego and contract the security situation to foreign merchineries. Even if it an under-G thing.

They know what to do.

Don’t mind them. The government wants to embezzle using insecurity as a means as usual.
