My question is, how can you be a leader of a union & be fighting, conquering & occupying your own members territories?

This explains why Russia could not form a strong military alliance like Nato.
Since Nato was formed,I don't think the US has INVADED any of Nato's member.

Finally, Russia is not at peace with some of its own members in the CIS...& also not at peace with Nato.

Honestly, right now no one knows what is on Putin's mind. Ukraine just did their 4th mobilization.. which means that Ukraine has mobilized over 4million of able citizens for this war. Remember Russia is not at war with Ukraine. And Russia hasn't done anything close to mobilization, just volunteers who wants to see some action in the battlefield.
Ukraine is gaining ground especially in Kharkov direction. But Russian resistance is heavier. Russia is advancing in nikolvae region.
Maybe Russia is waiting for Ukraine to mobilize for the fifth time. But if you ask me..i will say that Russia didn't want to fight Ukraine, because these Ukrainian and Russian are just the same people, and this what United States have wanted. Its just pathetic that Ukraine got their independence from Russia without a single blood drop. But they have been killings donbas people for 8yrs now. Who are still thesame people with Ukraine. I don't really understand human being sometimes. Left to me. If am Putin.. taking out Kiev regime will end this war..in anyway possible, no Matter the cost.
