The two governors who governed that state after Donald Duke should be declared persona non grata by Cross Riverians. A once beautiful and pristine environment has been reduced to a dunghill. I just came back from Calabar after a month long trip. The present leadership has finished the state. Heaps of refuse in the capital. No electricity. No running taps. I wonder what's the job description of a these lameduck Nigerian governors. That office should be scraped. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Once a beautiful city and pride of the South, now a nuisance city in the hands of a Yahoo Prof. What a shame. His academic credentials need a recheck. God forbid he wins even the Presidential Primaries. 3 Likes |

Grgton: How can it be?... Aren't they the same people once made it the cleanest city? From the report it is crystal clear the administration is responsible. There is no garbage collection ... the dump site is full ... there is no directive or communication from the administration... tell us what the ehmmm.... dirty citizens should do? As far as the administration is concerned....the city is clean....didn't you read the one in charge asked where is the garbage? 2 Likes |

Cross River made a huge mistake allowing Ayade to become Governor. His predecessor was bad but Ayade has been significantly worse. This is what happens when you make politics all about money. 2 Likes |

Grgton: How can it be the people when for a decade plus it was a clean, civilized place? Ayade came in with his cultists and half-wit relatives and everything regressed. 2 Likes 1 Share |

A great pity indeed for a state which was once rated the cleanest n safest state in Nigeria, and earned the Proverbial quotes as CALABAR: Come And Live And Be At Rest. |

Moferere: Rivers state is dirtiest under Governor Wike. And someone is being paid to keep the state clean. Under, Governor Ameachi, you hardly see refuse dump on major roads in Port Harcourt. Now, it's in almost every major roads. 1 Like |

Noshitboi: This is a flawed generalization. Yes, we all agree that Ayade has done very poorly but to insult an entire region because of the performers of just one person(whom you all voted for) goes to show how close minded and ignorant you are as a human being. Please grow up. Is just like me saying the entire efik tribal women are prostitute and the men are lazy(which is not true) because a few people I know. 1 Like |

Moferere:. The emergence of a very foolish professor as their governor is the problem. I don't know what qualifies people to be professors in Nigeria. That Cross Rivers governor is worse than Yahaya Bello. 1 Like |

Its happening in almost all the states in Nigeria, a clear failure of our governments who dont really care about their electorates, ofcourse we never voted them in the first place. Caly is a shadow of itself, anyone who left caly in the mid 2000s wont recognize it now. |

People living in that place are being exposed to disease, rodents, and worse I’m sure. What are the residents doing besides complain and blame the government? They should be dragging the leaders who are alright with those conditions through the dirt by the ankles 1 Like |

We deserve our leaders and our leaders deserves is as well. They will be like what is the essence of providing infrastructures for these people who are always behaving like animals? People who can't take proper maintenance of public infrastructures, so why are we bothering ourselves to do so. Let us be looting this money jaare. |

Even Port Harcourt is dirtier. But Calabar should have light first it's important. How can a city be in darkness since 1 month now. It's absurd. |

saintkeppy:Duke did a while lot for the urban areas while Liyel focused on opening up the rural areas whilst not entirely neglecting the urban areas but Ayade, a supposed Professor came in and scattered everything...His industrialization drive has not yielded no fruits and might likely not yield. Cross River has wasted 8 years with two Professors at the helm of affairs...It's a shame. |
