Why Always Ila Orangun College Of Education? by Mikolo28: 4:13pm On May 18, 2022
Any society or association where impunity takes order of the day, peace of such institutions is greatly threatened and development will be far from such establishment.

Just as we are yet to be through from the case of embezzlement to the tune of #412million allegedly siphoned by Bursar of Osun state College of Education Ila, the institution is again caught in another web of injustice devoid of fair play, transparency and integrity.

Why is the College of Education Ila always love to be in news for bad things? The new development at the college is the upturning of screening committee report for appointment of a substantive Registrar by the Chairman of the Governing Council of the college in person of Dr George Olayinka Owolabi.

Investigation revealed that an interview was held in 28th April, 2022 for the vacant vacuum of the school Registrar and it was unanimously agreed that the sitting Acting Registrar in person of one Mr Segun Ajiboye led the interview with a wide margin by consultants employed to handle the interview and other members of the panel.

What baffles me is how Mr Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola announced one Mr Abiodun Soji Odetunde as new Registrar of the college. Mr Odetunde who came a distant 4th according to the panel report. (I see 2020 Imo state gubernatorial case here, where Hope Uzodima of APC who came 4th was suddenly became governor at the expense of Emeka Ihedioha of PDP who came 1st in the poll).

I see falsification of report and submission of doctored report to Mr Governor by the Governing Council Chairman without the knowledge of other members of the Governing Council. A member of the council who preferred to remain anonymous said, it is saddening that Mr chairman misled Governor Oyetola and this is a big mess to the college!

Going back memory lane, Dr Owolabi was once Chairman of this same College in 2009 under the administration of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and he spent just 8months as Council Chairman. Dr Owolabi was relieved of his service because he submitted a falsified report and mark in favour of a preferred candidate for the post of the College Provost then. Mr Olasunkanmi came first for the post of the Provost of the college in the interview and examination conducted then, but Chairman unilaterally changed the scores obtained at the interview in favor of his candidate. Other members of the Governing Council reported the case to Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola who frowned at the development and sustained the Integrity of his office by removing Dr Owolabi as Chairman of the Governing Council and replaced by Hon Akin Titiloye. That was era of PDP with zero tolerance for indiscipline.

It is now important to call on Mr Governor to set up a fact-finding committee to look into this matter and brought the culprit to book.

Those that perpetrates evils in Oyetola's government have already formed a clique and hellbent on their mission to draw the state backwards.
