The spelling of the internal examination is wrong.
A PhD holder in the north is better than a HND holder in the south

The Catholic Church pulled out of CAN in 2013 in a brokered agreement between the current Pope and Sultan to prevent Catholic Churches from being targeted in the north.

When last did you hear BH or any other Islamic Terrorist organization attack the Catholic church?

Catholicism is no longer pretending to be Christianity

It obviously didn't work as a Catholic Church was burnt in Sokoto after Deborah was killed.

This our generation is so anti-knowledge. The guy did a research with a specified limitation of time to colonial era - yet You have managed to turn it to some sort of islamophobic complex. Obviously Christianity (catholism) was widely accepted in the East during colonialsm but same cannot be said in the north.
Here is a researcher that has identified a factor for that (which should naturally interest evangelicals in the north), but someone is trivialising it to "how to stop Christianity in North " angry

I guess anyone that does a research on witchcraft as it relates to Benin will either be burnt at a stake or at least accused of witchcraft. Bunch of ignorant lot

That is what hatred and fake rumors turned us to.
Many are just commenting base on the headline. Educated illiteracy is on the high level in Nigeria

You are very right, as a Christian I will be very happy to have the details of the research as it will be very enlightening to know all that transpired during the period in question.

You are talking rubbish! Issue is not about wheather the scope of research is resent or old, the problem is why is researcher even thinking on working on that kind of topic in the first place? Why preventing, why stopping? It means Christianity is seen as a threat to islam. Why can't researcher looks for other topics that can relate to Christianity? Why can't it be something like study of christian growth from 1900-1960 since this is more related to history he studied? Why preventing? Is Christianity preventing or stopping Islam from growing?

Every research project must have aim and objectives, what do you think aim and objectives of that topic will be? Professors that even approved that kind of topic and supervised that research topic for minimum of three years doctorate degree are proffesors like that of Abuja central mosque that was saying rubbish on Deborah issue. How are Muslim going to feel if it were Christian researcher? I am sure they can't tolerate that. That kind of topic is not ethical enough and not socially heathy in secular state like Nigeria.

If Christians are violent like muslims, it can be misinterpreted; Boko Haram terrorism, fullanization, Sharia law, banditry may be categorized as part of the techniques and Islamic agenda of stopping Christianity growth in Northern Nigeria which are already in practice. One interesting thing here is that the country Sudan, where more than 91% are Muslims and where he defended his PhD thesis became first country to ban Islam after rulling for 30years due to Islamic violence.

As much as you are right about the title and subject of this thesis, you must understand that the study serves to remind the north on how to curb spread of Christianity using crude Jihadist methods.

I don't think there is nothing civil being reviewed in that thesis and for it to be researched and published now shows a growing threat of Christianity within the Muslim north which necessitated the author to carry out a historical review on how the Caliphate resisted and halted the spread of Christianity during the colonial periods in review.

What should bother anyone is who this paper is meant to serve. Definitely not the Christians in the north.
The motive seems evil.

Let's be guided by thorough reasoning.

What the thesis is about is HOW THEY STOPPED THE SPREAD OF CHRISTIANITY IN THE NORTH FROM THE PERIOD OF 1900 TO 1960.

I know we have all the reasons to be careful but we have ever more reasons to be rational and not heat up the polity.

If as Christians we identify and bond with each other easily and anywhere like these people do and not look at denominations and doctrines, we will be able to have a Christian front that will defend Christians anywhere.

But how many Christians can worship in ECWA while he is originally a member of the Catholic church or how many Christians can worship in Deeper life while she is originally a member of Redeemed Christian Christian?

The moment we start identifying with each other as Christians irrespective of denomination, we have begun to make a lasting stand.

Unity of the brethren. Not the schism these church leaders are pursuing all for their bellies.

Actually you're correct about the study, but if a Muslim did a study like this then I think the conclusion will be how to learn from it and use the same or more potent method to continue the problem (spread of Christianity in the North) highlighted in the research. On the other hand, if a Christian did this same study then the conclusion will be that a method to stop the highlighted problem is being sought!
Conclusion and Recommendation section of the research is what would have given us a definitive motive of the author, unfortunately, we do not have it here.

if you know all the details then what will you do? Definitely you are going to tune your behaviour to counter whatever happened that time so that Christianity will spread in the North!
The researcher is trying to do the opposite of your own intention: study what they did then so as to use that method or more stronger one to stop the spread of Christianity in the Northern part of Nigeria!

NO, people commenting are not educated illiterates or ignorant!
They are commenting on the motivation for the research, which is obvious!
Nobody has seen the conclusion and recommendation of the author, we would have been able to reach a definitive conclusion on his thinking!

You're right. The gate of hell cannot prevail on Churches in Nigeria and all over the world because Jesus said upon muslim intolerance of Christians, Matthew 16:18 (KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter (Apostle of Jesus Christ/Followers of Christ), and upon this rock (north signifies Rock; stubborn people) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (nothing can stop it).

I will be very happy when Islam and Christianity are no more in Nigeria

Meanwhile, the headline is misleading. This is just a historical research. That's why the Whites will always be better than us. They care about historical research no matter how unpleasant. So there have been historical researches about Slave Trade, American Civil War, The Civil Rights Movements, Apartheid, Spread Of Christianity in European colonial territories and so on.

As an academic, I would love to have a copy of this PhD thesis. It is an interesting topic.
