Dear Nairalanders,

It has come to dismay how our sports in the country is being handled most especially the round lethal game. Our country players are treated poorly by various club sides. We are priced far less than expected. Even players from Bosnia, Vietnam, that cant stand our country in terms of football accolades are going for better prices. The players agent are treating the players in an awful manner. Two weeks ago it was reported in the dailies that Taye Taiwo was ripped off by his agent over sum worth Hundreds thousand of dollars being sum from his bread company he owns in Lagos. The lists are endless.

We also have problem of broadcasting rights. The Country dream team have played so many games for the qualification of the AAG& Olympic which none of their recent games were beamed lived for the viewers to watch. How can our team play neighboring black meteors of Ghana our next door neighbor and it wont be shown not to talk of those matches that were played in Benin. We keep yelling but nothing is being done to tackle the quandary.

What of our local league. Its nothing to right home about. Home team always carry the day For example Enyimba plays relegation Juth FC at home and trash them 4 goals to nil but going away to play same Juth FC they loose away. Even if Enyimba goes to play a female team away they might loose due to unexplainable decisions. Referee favors home team. Fans hardly go to the stadium to watch team play. The stadiums are virtually empty even when they throw it open. Our league isn't entertaining instead we pay as much money with some bottles of soft & alcohol to watch English premiership, La Liga, Italian Serie A etc. I'm sure no NL's can mention Five Zamfara Utd players off hand.

In this vein we are calling for everyone to come together and form and umbrella body were fans can have their say. We are all stakeholders. A new group called Football Alliance of Nigeria (FAN) is in formation. We have started gathering as much members as we can. In short all fans in the country are potential members. We can thus advocate with the FA& the FG on the way forward in restructuring the round lethal game in the country. We have ex players that sit down without contributing anything to the game in the country. I would urge the moderators to use the available medium for such change. I would plead that this should make the home page as it concerns everyone of us.

The website of FAN is under construction and would be unveiled as soon as it is completed. But you can get to know more on our Facebook page using: http://www./171330462931709

This is group is being put across by Nigerians within and in the diaspora. Meetings are held every Sunday and Wednesday 5pm Nigeria Time. I would include the emails of the emails of the coordinators once I see the turn out as to avoid spam messages. But if you go through Kickoff you will be able to pick the emails and past post of the meeting. The next meeting will come up on Sunday July 17th 2011 by 5pm. Venue: Football Alliance of Nigeria Yahoo group pg

Your suggestions would go along way to get us to the right track.

Thanks
