Alignments and re-alignments are continuous things in politics, especially during election periods.

Al Makura might have decided to align with Tinubu, for post-2023 self-preservation.

One thing I know is Buhari has to be very careful now. He must not tear the party apart. The parties that came together to form APC seem to have retained their identities and loyalty. If Buhari selects an unpopular aspirant, the crack might be irredeemable.

It's obvious some of the Northern states are still loyal to the ACN family. Any attempt to impose a minority group member on them, will spell doom for APC.
