The PDP primary election was conducted on May 23, 2022 and Banky W won by a large margin, defeating his opponent with over 25 votes. The Nigerian singer Banky W with the win has secured the PDP ticket to contest for the Eti-Osa constituency in the House of Representatives in the 2023 General elections. The delegates were so excited they carried the singer on their shoulders. Banky W who tried to secure the party ticket in 2019 failed.
