Champs, the 2021/22 season of the UEFA Champions League has reached its final stage. Two of the strongest teams in the competition, Liverpool and Real Madrid will face-off in the final on Saturday, May 28 in Paris, France.

Liverpool, having battled their way past Villarreal in their semi-final, had looked certain to face Manchester City in Paris when Riyad Mahrez put the Premier League leaders 5-3 up on aggregate against La Liga's champions in the other last-four tie.

Yet Real Madrid produced another memorable evening at the Santiago Bernabeu. Rodrygo scored twice after the 90-minute mark before Karim Benzema's extra-time penalty sealed a 6-5 aggregate win to book their spot in the final.

The 2022 final will be a repeat of the 2018 final, when Real Madrid triumphed 3-1 to complete an historic Champions League three-peat under Zinedine Zidane. This year’s final promises to be epic and we can’t wait for the drama & excitement to unfold this weekend.

So I want to play against them, hopefully win it against them as well."

Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti believes something strange happened this season. According to the tactical genius, since the start of the season, his side has played very strong teams who believed they'd win the Champions League, teams such as Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, & Manchester City. For him, a final with Liverpool is like a derby because he continues to be an Evertonian.
