Balon d'Or has been modified to only cover the beginning of a season to the end of it, not a whole year any more. 2022 balon d'Or will be awarded only on the basis of the recently concluded season. The world cup will only be considered for the next year's.

It's now judged per season not per calendar yr. Check, balon dor ceremony holds before wc starts so Benz has won it already. WC wud be factored into next yrs balon dor

..just like iniesta and xavi won it after winning the world cup abi the fact remains ballin d or has changed the rules that the award will now be judged on single season performance and the world cup is holding next season so for this season Benzema is the undisputed..but even at that he is in a france team who are also among the favourite to win the world cup so whichever way he surely must win it
