Not only Jonathan in 2011, even an incumbent OBJ with his almighty PDP that had little or no opposition at all lost virtually all the core North East and North West states, bar Kaduna and Adamawa yet he won the 2003 election.
2003 and 2011 results have proven that while a Southern candidate DOES NOT need to win the core north to be president, they MUST WIN the South convincingly to achieve such a feat.

The question is can Tinubu win the South?

Any fair minded southern candidate can achieve majority votes in the middle belt. All the middle belt wants is a united South. PDP primaries is a lesson to southern APC
