We Never Threatened To Work Against Atiku, PDP In 2023 Poll – Ohanaeze Ndigbo by Maxymilliano(m): 6:04am On May 31, 2022
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has denied threatening to work against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 presidential election.

The group was reacting to a press release reportedly made by an unnamed person, on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, which claimed the Igbos would rise against Mr Abubakar and reject the PDP in the South-east

The statement was said to have been made after Mr Abubakar defeated other aspirants, including those from the South-east, at the PDP primary on Saturday.

But in a statement by its spokesperson, Chiedozie Ogbonnia, Ohanaeze Ndigbo disowned the statement, describing those behind it as “mischief makers, impostors, charlatans and unscrupulous social climbers”.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo regretted that those who issued the “fake press release” have been leeching on their footprints to deceive the unsuspecting members of the public, noting that their activities have been the bane to Igbo cohesion.

For the avoidance of doubt, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural body, led by Ambassador Professor George Obiozor has not issued any press statement on the candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,” Mr Ogbonnia said.

“Ohanaeze awaits with keen interest, the full outcome of the ongoing primaries by all the political parties before it can issue a press release with respect to the Igbo position on the 2023 general election,” he added.

The Ohanaeze spokesperson asked the public to disregard any statement which did not come from the group’s Secretary General, Okey Emuchay.

There have been calls from South-east leaders that the region should be allowed in 2023 to produce a president for the first time.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo has been at the forefront of the agitation for Nigerian president of South-east extraction.

The inability of an aspirant from the South-east to emerge presidential candidate of the PDP appeared to have infuriated some South-east residents.

Ohanaeze should
Align with Obi.
That's the right thing to do and kick away both APC AND PDP.
As it stands now Tinubu will definitely win the APC presidential primaries.
Atiku is the candidate for PDP. We can't afford to have this same criminals back in power.
Obi is not a saint also but a lesser criminal. For the sake of equity and the pattern of Obi campaign I think he can make developmental strides in Nigeria. As it stands only the educated rational youths can swing the pendulum in his favour. The illiterate almajari will definitely vote Tinubu or atiku. Let the campaign begin.

Of course Atiku is their lord and saviour. Na only mumu no know that one. All these noise about Obi pandora or nothing are just mere market noise. They will line up behind Fulani as slaves which they ironically call those in APC. cheesy

By the way, Atiku is 75. He is older than Tinubu but I don't see anyone asking him to go retire home. Oh! I forgot. 70 is old but 75 is a youth. Bunch of miscreants.

By the way, Obi no go see 20k votes from east. Na Atiku be the way cool

Okay...
But we know that Peter Obi's Labour party will play a major role in reducing the chances of PDP's winning in the general election

If you must know it was Tinubu that lifted former AD from a minority to a major political party which eventually teamed up with the CPC to wrest power from the PDP.

You may not like Tinubu but you have to give him his due respect cos he has earned it!

We all know that the South East will support PDP. The only hypocritical thing is that these same people were asking for APC to zone their presidency to South East. No be ment be that? Atiku has their mums button and they will follow him.

Someone should tell Peter Obi to stop wasting his time. The PDP South East caucus didn't even support him. Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi did not support him. Even Anambra PDP did not support him. Obi will not win one state in the general election.
