You are one smart Nigerian. Your type needs to be cherished. It is such a shame that old grandpas who escape home of the elderly queue up for presidential jobs when smart ones like you are here. Keep it up, bro. I had to read it up just now.
Leonardoshawn3:
Yeah, i've known this particular snake for a very long time now, thanks to NatGeowild on dstv. They are very common around the nigerian neighborhood.

They are very active particularly in the afternoon.

Sand racer.

Mildly venomous but still chill snake probably looking for warmth or hunting the rats in your house.

Rear fanged too so even if there was a bite very unlikely that thered be envenomation

I learnt there are house snakes and their bites are close to harmless.

But personally, I detest that crippy thing and would reach for the closest stick/stone once I set my eyes on one.

This one can be harmful. It's a mildly venomous sand racer. Good thing is it's rear fanged so even with a bite you're unlikely to get envenomated except you let it chew on you.

One of the most poisonous and deadliest snakes in the world; they call it "paramole" in my area grin angry grin grin grin grin

False! Not even top 100.
Mildly venomous shokari sand racer. The chances of you dying from a bite from one of these is practically zero.

It doesn’t seem to have the diamond shaped head of a venomous snake.

You killed it anyway so hope you at least eat it

Many snakes with diamond shape heads are not poisonous. Cue watersnakes, though not prevalent in this part of the world.

The most venomous snake in the world, the inland Taipan has a rather chill suave head much like this snake. Same thing for the deadly Mamba.

Leonardoshawn3:
lol... This isn't a house snake bro. It's called a "schokari sand racer" they are very fast and are not particularly harmful to humans because thier venom isn't potent enough.
Bless you nwanne.. The comment i was looking for. The above responses are the reason Nigeria is the way it is. Nothing meaningful.

That is a garter snake.

They are harmless. They can bite, though.

Garter snake, them say it's not harmful but na them say oooo

They are harmless. They can bite, but their bites don't have venom, so they can't kill you.

The very small ones like the one OP killed cannot not even constrict a human child.
Re: Is This A House Snake? by kingyakos: 11:33am On Jun 01, 2022
Allow it to bite u so you will know if it's venomous or not
