This should be condemned by all meaning Nigerians.

So the APC Government has completely abdicated from it responsibilty and they now want to come back again to power by next year.
The Nigerians citizens are indeed terrible people.
This move is bad in it entirety & no sane person should contribute a dime to this fraud.

I do not necessarily think this is the right way to go. Instead, Brekete with its wide reach and influence should be mobilizing students to put pressure on the government to live up to its basic functions! This may include nationwide protests and while at this, take the opportunity to educate the students, their parents/guardians and communities not to ever vote or campaign for any current politician who has contributed to the incessant strikes by refusing to provide proper welfare and facilities for lecturers and students alike! Teach them to support and vote only those who have clear, incontrovertible track records of growing and contributing to education at any level!

Raising these funds will only make the government officials more lazy and entitled! Why should private citizens be funding government institutions? Are we also going to do fundraising for payment of outstanding pensions, unpaid contractors, etc? This will only be letting the government off the hook way too easily without repercussions. That money will still get signed away from government coffers and be shared among the regular thieves and criminals in power!

The moment they (Politicians) see that students are being sensitized to look away from those who have constantly betrayed them while their own children study in private institutions or abroad, they will quickly sit up and do the needful because they know they need these young people to secure their victory at the polls! You can imagine the minister of state for education for instance, contesting for presidency while students have been out of school for almost 5 months! It the same government through its rotten security agencies that will keep arresting and killing these young people if they venture into crime or even when they are gathered peacefully just because they (security agencies) have guns and one idiot somewhere feels that they want to overthrow his government!

I don't just understand. Too much empty sentiments and no readiness to demand that the right thing be done! This is the time to re-engineer the political consciousness of young people so they know not to support demonic politicians that have truncated their education and economic empowerment! Instead someone is trying to make already battered Nigerian citizens part with their hard-earned money unto give and it shall be given, more blessed to give than to receive rhetoric!
