Following the anticipated ballot revolution in Akwa Ibom state come 2023, former Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) youth president, Apostle Nyeneime Andy, the presiding pastor of the Holy Ghost Assembly ministry, Uyo, emerged as the winner of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) gubernatorial primary election that took place at the Vimpy Event center, Udo Udoma, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State last Wednesday.

The YPP gubernatorial primary election, which was duly monitored by officials of the Regional Electoral Commission (REC) was conducted by the party’s members of the National Planning Committee, led by the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ebiola Olawale Martins. Personalities at the gubernatorial primary election include such heavyweights as Hon. Bar. Useneobong Akpabio, who is the Uyo Senatorial district Senatorial candidate of the party, Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency candidate of the party, Prince Ekemini Mbeh, Oron federal constituency candidates, the party’s board of trustees members, to mention but few.

Mr. Martins, who conducted the Akwa Ibom State YPP gubernatorial primary election, supervised two hundred and nine (209) accredited delegates across the thirty-one (31) local government area of the state out of the supposed two hundred and seventeen (2017) expected delegates who voted for the Apostle, who also doubles as the State Chairman of the party as he emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the party to stand election as governor come 2023. The national publicity secretary expressed his delight with the peaceful conduct of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of YPP members.

In his acceptance speech, Apostle Andy expressed his appreciation to the members of REC officials, members of the party’s national working committee, as well as the delegates for dimming it fit to trust him with their votes. He promised never to let them down. The young, handsome, purposeful and dynamic gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Akwa Ibom State, revealed that he has never lost in any contest in his life. Tracing his foray into politics from when he was a student in a higher institution, to when he contested, won, and led a mammoth congregation as a CAN youth president across the country, to running a political party, he pointed out that he has always done well and he has always been a winner.

Speaking further, the gubernatorial candidate promised a transformation, youthful, human capital development, and youth-controlled government with 40% appointments for women when he wins as the governor, come next year.

“I am speaking to the Goliath of Akwa Ibom State, Goliath must fall”, the Governor to be declared.

The gubernatorial candidate of YPP, Akwa Ibom State, admonished the people, most especially those that are not satisfied with the current rot in the system to go and register and obtain their PVC/voters card, as well as their YPP membership card, as the revolution of voting out Goliath and voting in David is about to take place in the State. He assured everyone that YPP is going to be peaceful, organized, and orderly in prosecuting the race to become the government of the day come 2023. He promised to establish 31 offices of the YPP across the 31 respective local governments of the state. He also promised three buses each to the state's three senatorial districts, declaring that this is YPP’s turn.

“Watch it, in the next twenty-one days, YPP is going to be the rave of the moment and the delight of everyone in the State”, he assured
