Yorubas are not as politically aware or even sophisticated as they always arrogate to themselves. In a multi-ethnic, multi-religion and multi-region country like Nigeria, a particular group felt they could rule indefinitely at the expense of others. If the Yorubas have the population and wherewithal to achieve it, then it would have been okay but when they're at the mercy of others, it becomes ridiculous.

If SW is allowed to rule in 2023, it would mean by 2031, they would have ruled for 24 years as president and vice out of a total of 32 years since 1999!! Even when SE hasn't even had anything and SS just had 6 years!! If that's not greed then nothing else is. I created a thread about this a long time ago and warned them that's a major reason why Tinubu or any other person from SW would never succeed Buhari.

Left for Tinubu, he would want a situation whereby only Fulanis and Yorubas will be ruling back-to-back without any atom of feeling for others, in a country like Nigeria? Igbos understood what was playing out and came after him with full force.

Abiola had same mindset when he wanted to force a Muslim-muslim presidency on Nigerians without minding the feelings of Christians. He told Igbos that he can do without them, exactly the same thing Tinubu tried to do. On both occasions, Igbos rallied and ensured they never succeeded.

As it stands now, only a radical change to the system can stop the North. The South now has a chance to massively vote Peter Obi based on competence and railroad North Central to key in. That's the only way we can create a new system whereby leaders would be elected based on who has the best qualities and not necessarily because of where the person is from.

If the South can pull it off by helping to galvanize others into bringing Peter Obi to power, the old system would die. However, if otherwise, then the North may end up ruling till thy kingdom come because after using the SW to rubbish the rest of South in 2015, they're now using the SE in 2023, and by 2031, they may choose to use the SS or switch back to SW and rinse and repeat the whole process.
