Christistruth00: ojukwu insisted, and more millions died. those babies would have gone on to birth more kids and by now become grandfathers igbos would easily have at least 10million more population if those 3million kids had become parents and grand parents. arrogance no good oh 4 Likes |

I'm not a fan of Zik due to his one Nigeria nonsense ideology, but he was absolutely right on this stand about that war. I don't even know why Igbos celebrate Ojukwu as some hero, no thanks to him we didn't only lose millions of lives for a war we were absolutely not prepared for (which he was aware of from the start), but that war pretty much is why we are in the mess we are in today, we absolutely lost everything even though we recovered our pride and economic power- thanks to the Igbo man's natural residence. Ojukwu should have waited, planned, made diplomatic overtures to major world powers before declaring that war, I understand emotions were high and Igbos wanted out after the pogroms in the North, but we needed time to lock our wounds, heal, and strategically make plans to leave Nigeria with enough military support and logistics...neither of which we accomplished simply because we failed to plan. 2 Likes 1 Share |
