Actor Yul Edochie Drops His 2023 Presidential Ambition; Reveals Why

Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has stopped pursuing his 2023 Presidential ambition and he has revealed his reason for stopping, IGBERETV reports.

According to him, his party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) doesn't have the capacity to win the Presidential election at the moment.

He wrote on his Twitter handle;

"To understand Nigerian politics well buy form and run for office.
Win or lose your eye go clear.
You’ll stop ranting and start looking at facts.
Politicians don’t share money because they want to, they share money because the people demand money.
Without it only few will listen to you"

"Politics is not done with sentiments.
If you do you’ll likely fail and keep failing.
Politics is done with facts.
That’s why my brother Banky W left his former party and joined PDP.
He simply put sentiments aside and embraced facts."

https://twitter.com/YulEdochie/status/1535182469800120322?s=19

"He realized that his former party does not have the capacity to win the seat for him.
And building structure for a party is not a one man thing.
It takes a lot.
So he simply moved.
It doesn’t make him a bad person.
That’s politics."

https://twitter.com/YulEdochie/status/1535183653797605377?t=PHdOs374z_lir8zLrNxb4A&s=19

"I wanted to run for President with APGA.
After much consultations & meetings.
We sat and did our evaluations.
We put sentiments aside & embraced facts.
Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat.
So I didn’t move further."

Na im O, if you don't have the real life influence drop out.

Make Peter Obi drop out and retire O..

Good intentions and competence, has never and will never win elections in Nigeria..

To win you must work with armed robbers, ritualists, hardened criminals, you must work with those that have sworn that the lives of an ordinary Nigerian won't get better.

If you can't do any of those, then please get out of the race and don't waste the vote of the youths and your region.

Peter Obi retire, I take God beg you embarassed

One thing I can pick from what he said is that politicians share money because the people demand for money. Meaning the people are also to blame for the massive systemic corruption.

Some people here are very confused.
They are no longer shouting Biafra. They are no longer shouting endsars. They are no longer saying free Nnamdi Kanu.
Once their clown Peter Obi loses, they will go back to calling our dear country a zoo.
2023 will either be Atikulated or BATified and nothing will happen
Lord bless Nigeria

Hate him or like him, he's saying the truth...Politics is not a game of sentiments

I'm a realist and here are the facts:
as at 2011/2015 South-East already had over 5million active voters that registered and voted.
Since resumption of Continued Voters registration...over 2million new voters have been registered.

From the facts on ground over 16 millions Igbo lives outside South-East and are massively registering to vote (Lagos 5.6million and 11.5 million in the North).

Peter Obi is sure of at least 3million votes from South-south (I'm definitely moving my structure to his camp)
and at least 2million votes from South-West (of course there are still intelligent and patriotic Yorubas that wants the best for their children and future of Nigeria).

With the help of his Vice President, Obi will pull atleast 6million votes from the North (North-east, west and central combined).

So lets do the maths:
South-East: 7million votes
Igbos in other regions: 8million votes
South-south: 3million votes
South-west: 2million votes
Northern region: 6million votes
Total 26 million votes

Surely, Obi will be President come 2023

You mean ward councilor?
Chairman is higher than house of assembly.

Caveat: I am only correcting your nomenclature, not necessarily upholding your idea cos I don't judge a book by its cover. All our politicians that have been failing us are not better than him. I don't see any reason to think he cannot perform the task of president. Majority can, but not all will perform at the same level, some will fail.

he is very right about that part, the people demand money because they feel that this has been the norm since 1999 hence do not expect less.

Trying to change this mindset is tough but possible, it would require massive funding and alot of advocacy programmes by both civil societies, respective government agencies and other stakeholders
