RIP to the dead.

One of the reason I don't use my phone when there is lightening and thunderstorm is that I've been struck before while on call.

The phone was completely destroyed and I had problems with my right eardrum for about 3 months before balance was restored.

Guess I was lucky because most victims of lightening usually end up dead.
Never again.

Buhari and Tinubu is to be wholely blamed for this.

If Buhari had paid the lecturers, they won't be on strike and the young girl won't be at home.
If the druggie Tinubu didn't foist Buhari on Nigerians, the lanky devil won't be any where near the seat of power.

Just RIP will do instead of this rubbish u typed..

You should know all humans will taste death, for lightning to strike at that instance and killed her was no fault of hers, but for one to die at her prime is not something one should be happy about, bible says mourn with those who mourn.

My sincere sympathy goes to her family for this huge loss.

And to the rest of us who are still alive, are we afraid of thunder If we are so afraid of thunder, then what about the CREATOR of thunder...THE ALMIGHTY GOD??
Have we surrendered to HIM in fear? Have we loved HIM in reverence and have we submitted to HIM in obedience

The young girl is gone but we still have this very moment to make amends.....

Oh Lord please by your MERCY deliver us from JUDGEMENT...

Perhaps she was using the phone with charger still plugged in. If not you can't be killed by lightning when your on a phone call with your phone unplugged.

It has nothing to do with mobile phone.

EDITOR—The claim in the letter by Esprit et al, that mobile phones are a risk when used in a storm, is
misleading. Although some people speculate that mobile phones pose a risk when used outdoors because lightning is attracted to metal, mobile phone handsets generally contain insignificant amounts of metal.

Following worldwide media interest in the letter, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) responded, saying lightning is not attracted to people carrying mobile phones: “People are struck because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. The wrong place is anywhere outside. The wrong time is anytime a thunderstorm is nearby.”

The medical profession is well aware of the misinformation on this topic as pointed out by Cooper.
The types of injury observed in the letter are also well known and Cooper also points out that no lightning danger is inherent to mobile phones.

Although many reports of lightning injuries affect people who are using mobile phones, these reports represent the ubiquity of mobile phone usage and of their users' inattentiveness to weather conditions and have nothing to do with the phones themselves.

Furthermore, the claim that the Australian Lightning Protection Standard recommends mobile phones.should not be used during storms is incorrect. The standard (AS/NZS 1768-2003, not AS/170 as cited) does not make any such recommendation. It advises people to use mobile phones instead of conventional corded telephones during storms because conventional phones pose a well documented risk.

She was struck inside her house, nowhere outside. Are you people not reading the news? Like does it not bother anyone that she was inside a building when she was struck?

IT goes against all research precaution
