Enugu Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has complied with the order of the Bishop of the Diocese banning his Adoration Ministry.

Gistlover had reported that following Mbaka’s utterances against Mr. Peter Obi, his Adoration Ministry, Enugu, was shut down by Bishop Callistus Onaga of the Enugu Catholic Diocese.

Mbaka has now issued a statement to his followers, informing them that programmes would no longer hold in the Ministry.

The statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Ministry reads:

“Dear Adorers, There will be no program starting from tomorrow being 19th June 2022 at Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria Amen, Umuchigbo Emene, Enugu State.

“Sunday Mass, Wednesday (E No Dey) And Night Programs will not hold till further notice.

“God bless Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria Amen and God Bless Our Spiritual Director, Rev Fr, Ejike Mbaka.

“Keep praying for Our Daddy and may God Bless you all.”

The Bishop only directed the Catholic Faithfuls not to attend his Adoration centre, the non Catholics supporting him for attacking Obi can still attend. I wonder why he's closing it down.

He has no choice but to bow. Except he’s ready to breakaway from the Catholic Church and become an orphan.

He doesn't have a choice - nobody is bigger than the Catholic Church. However, I know the directive is momentary. The Catholic Church in Nigeria needs Father Mbaka - e get why.

Mbaka will eventually break away from the Roman Catholic Church. He already has a listening audience. To stop him is straightforward.... Transfer him to the Vatican, ASAP. This won't be the first time such a step will happen.

He went out line to say things that are contrary to his ordination as a priest, an example should be set to for that priest in Benue that won APC gubernatorial primaries, he need to know that the Canon law forbid a priest from participating in politics. Tell me how will he now carryout his function as a priest? He will be force to resign and power will corrupt him because he will mingle with bad bloods in political arena

He will come back stronger. I suppose in a few weeks time. Even the Bishop has a soft spot for him but he had to do something so that he isn't called weak.

first of all, Bishop Kukah is a bishop not a priest like Mbaka. In Catholicism a bishop is the fullness of the priesthood, equal in dignity to the pope, that is just to put it in context. Between +Kukah and Mbaka there is a wide difference.

secondly, Kukah addresses government policies just like any priest and particularly bishops are allowed to do. He can criticize government and their bad policies, but never will you see kukah commenting on partisan politics from the pulpit, he will never tell you who will win an election, which candidate God is against or go into person attacks and start cursing people like Mbaka has no.

CAtholic priests may attack different government policies if they wish to, in fact they can support mr. a if they like when discussing with their friends, but they are not allowed to go into partisan politics and using the pulpit to attack mr. b, curse him or stop him from winning an election.

Bishop Kukah is actually doing well attacking evil policies and government failures, Mbaka is attacking person who are candidates of political parties during an election season
