Smartphones are useful just as drugs, weapons and medications are but like food, music and basically anything else, they become dangerous when they are idols. You can't stop using smartphones, they are essentials in our world today. However I need you to watch out for these negative things!

1. We are addicted to distractions
Smartphones are good to distract yourself from work and boredom. But we can become addicted to them. The problem is the addiction. This has led to low attention spam in some people. They only thing they want to do is get on Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube everytime for fun.

2. We get lonely
Ever seen a picture of people at a supposed social gathering and everyone is fixated on their phones? You're using your phone wrongly if this is you. A big problem is that phones have made people boring and because they're boring, no one wants to hang out with them

3. We become what we like
We come the same thing we like to do over time. If we consume healthy and godly content, we are likely to reproduce that in our lives. The same applies when we consume unhealthy content

4. We crave instant approval
When we post pictures on social media, people like it to show appreciation or their love for what you posted. What can happen to us unconsciously is we begin to expect instant approval or appreciation for things we do even in the real life, when we don't get it, we can get demotivated

5. We get comfortable in secret vices
Smartphones give access to pornography, fraudulent activities etc without anyone noticing. God hates misuse of anything in our lives.

but not all things are helpful.
“All things are lawful for me,”
but I will not be dominated by anything. . . .
“All things are lawful,”
but not all things build up.
—Apostle Paul[/center]

Now that you know ways your smartphone is changing you, you can now work on preventing that. Happy Sunday!
