subsidywise18: I believe a good economy will comes with a commensurate good standard of living that will agument purchasing power .. Do you know because of our insane dependants on dollar, an increase or decrease int'l oil price is immaterial to nigeria revenue sometimes i doubt if our leader are truly educated Nigeria needs local production and exportation badly ... crude oil should be a blessing not a curse. A booming economy enables good standard of living which in turn augments per capital income, when there is purchasing power #200 or plus won't be a problem for consumers |

Disheartening to see but it's inevitable. Russia-Ukraine war is causing more damage than you see. So if a new price is to be introduced, let them be quick about it. Afterall, Nigeria can't manufacture enough PMS to cater for it's citizens. |

If you like remove Subsidy on everything In Nigeria. That would be the times things will be extremely worst for the Average & Poor People. For example, Take a look at what Is happening with Diesel. Many of you Just went to school but you peeps aren't educated. I work with a multinational corporation, You guys don't have the Idea of what's coming for you soon "You are In a Nation where the System Is/Was rigged and designed to make only Few Evil, Wicked & Heartless People to be successful and suppress the Majority" The same people who are benefiting from Subsidy will adjust and still keep on milking the Nation Resources lol. Suffer never tire Una.. |

It is just sheer stupidity and ignorance to compare cost of processing crude outside the country. We have been unlucky to have bunch of mediocre and narcissists as leaders in this country and they park their cohorts into positions of authority and act like fools. Nothing is going to change if you like vote Obi or Ezego. Atiku or BAT. Nigeria has about 12 out of a possible 15 signs of a collapsed state. Best is to take that CONFAB thing serious and discuss if they should divide or not cus some madness has got to stop. That region thing works and each one would work better and progress faster to match the next and the best brains that can lead each forward would emerge not some brainless form 4 school dropout leading our country cus of one yeye quota system that you are still not sharing around through the whole geo-political zones. We are in a deep mess already so we have to dissect, re-arrange and re-group. Why should someone be using the wealth of another territory for his own group and leave the minorities out now. Our leaders are dumb! Why should you have crude oil, you export and get fuel back, your gas around here is flared into the ozone layer (thus wasting away), and you only get abt 3-4 by-products of crude oil back. What happens to the brake oil, gear oil, grease, motor parts lubricants which are all products that machineries and various equipments can process then convert. fan belts too, putty, floor wax, car tires, antifreeze, shaving cream, butane, candles, shampoos, petroleum jelly, crayon, ink, diesel, propane, jet fuel, kerosene and other funny things you can’t even begin to imagine such as lipstick. What is supposed to provide jobs for over 50,000 - 1,000,000 Nigerians. These white men signs crazy and dirty MOUs with them and hold those products back, minimum labor cost per hr in the U.S for oil and gas refining sector is about $26 per hour. Average should be about $35-50 per hour. Bt in Nigeria average labor cost is less than $1 per hour. So how can you compare both and tell me landing cost would be 350naira per liter of fuel hence the need for a subsidy. Produce locally!!! Refine locally!!! Process other products locally!!! Build companies, give loans encourage and aid the working population to thrive, stop continually stealing the social security funds of every Nigerians. Refineries should be joint ventures btw government and individuals in the private sectors to cut down the monopoly war and bring about checks and balances. $30billion on refineries would solve the problem but they won’t do it. They enjoy the fraud on subsidies claims and the charade. Funnily the money isn’t even in oil and gas kankan but in services and human capital resources. Na only Exxon Mobil dey top 10 richest companies in the world @ no 10 ohh and Alibaba Group/AliExpress is richer than them sef. So what are we talking about sef. And that is why Walmart revenue in 2015 is still higher than Nigeria’s revenue in 2021, Apple revenue from sales of iPhones and other products is closer to the whole money we make as a nation and people are still looting. People needs to be empowered properly not these stomach empowerments. We have been unlucky around this part of the world. 1 Like |
