The U.S is good, I just spent 5 years in the U.S, I have a two-flat building cost me 10 million naira and 2004 CRV in Nigeria; and I graduated in 2006 and I am 28 years old. I am proud of doing my menial or dirty job because I achieve from it. If I am a slave in the U.S achieving these, I prefer it to being a king in Nigeria renting a room and riding an Okada.

LAGOS — Nigerian security forces killed at least 23 people after a bomb blast blamed on Islamists over the weekend, allegedly randomly shooting and burning a market, Amnesty International said on Monday.

The allegations were the latest against Nigerian security forces operating in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, which has been hit by scores of bomb blasts and gun attacks blamed on an Islamist sect known as Boko Haram.

"The Nigerian authorities must immediately put a stop to unlawful killings by security forces," the rights group said in a statement.

", At least 23 people were killed by police following a bomb blast on Saturday in the northeastern city of Maiduguri."

Amnesty said the Joint Military Task Force, assigned to Maiduguri to deal with the wave of attacks, responded to the bomb blast with heavy force. The military has said the blast wounded three soldiers.

"According to reports received by Amnesty International, the Nigerian Joint Military Task Force responded by shooting and killing a number of people, apparently at random, before burning down the market," it said.

The videos below reportedly show the San Francisco police shooting a non-resisting man in back and while laying face down in the street. The teenager in the video was lethal wounded after being shot 5 times after the police reportedly chased him down for not paying a $2 bus fare.

The Police claim this man had a gun which still has not been found and eyewitnesses at the scene say the official story coming from the police is full of lies.

You are on point. People make their own lives complicated. Most people live in homes they cannot afford (americans included) and drive cars no have no business buying. People act like you are forced to get into debt. I worked through school so my student loans were not that much. I made the mistake everybody tends to make and racke dup credit card bills and I worked very hard to pay them off. Do not spend what you do not have. It is that simple. My first house was also a condo/townhouse and I paid cash for it. It was not expensive and it had everything I eeded. i was not married then. It's all about living within your means and if you want to spend more you simply make more. The idea that you have to work just to keep up with debt might be true but it is the debt that you chose to create. In rare cases people rack up medical debt but that is the only debt that makes sense in terms of having to file for bankruptcy.

I am with you . . . I had a friend, who on a mere CNA salary was able to buy his first house cash down out in Newjersey. He knew he could not afford NY and he knew it would be senseless for him to live above his means but he wanted to buy a house so he went down to Jersey to buy.

I can't believe someone even posits that inability to pay back loan is sensible argument against Nigeria. Most of these things would not even be offered a loan even if their lives depended on it, had they been in Nigeria. But they get the chance and instead of using it wisely, most of these misuse and then blame the system for allowing them that opportunity. I am so pissed that someone would even argue the way some of these have so far.

How are you so sure that Ive never been to America or that I am not IN America?
1. 50k-200k cannot buy you a decent home in America. A four bedroom single family house costs anywhere from 500k-1million USD you will be lucky to find it for 400k. With 150k you can purchase a two bedroom condo or a multi family building. Mansions are millions of dollars.
2. I am not talking about the majority of America, I am talking about Nigerian immigrants who go to America.
3. Why are you contempt in being in debt? Debt  is the chain that ties you down.
4. To your statement about cars, you clearly do not understand automobiles or pricing for that matter. Take for example a 2002 Mercedez Benz C class. In the US this car would be atleast 15k (N2.4M) While in Nigeria, this car can be N2.0M or less. American car brands arent popular in Nigeria, so please keep them out of the equation. Asian and European cars are cheaper in Africa since most of them are accidented or imported and their prices are slightly lower as compared to their American-bound models in order to appeal to a "middle class" Nigerian population. Please research information before you make any definite statements.
