walkbrazil4k I am not really a novice in Geography, I had always known that the official language of Brazil is Portuguese , infact understanding Spanish will make understanding Portuguese relatively easy, since they are both Romance language .

walkbrazil4k I totally agree at the bolded. I remember while learning Spanish - I used a Paul Noble booklet, and a Spanish dictionary - it was relatively easy.
Although, now I am rusty with Spanish, but I understand the basics, like converting English words to Spanish, basic greetings etc.
