Most of this obi people were kids in 2015 I guess, if not you would have understood that all this are political witch-hunt. Anyone can sponsor a story in Bloomberg and the likes you pay them and they run your article. apc did worst than this in 2015. If you have forgotten, apc sponsored, lobbied Obama wife to carry " bring back our girls" banner how many students have been kidnapped in this buhari era, why trump wife no carry sign post. apc lobbied Kerry to be coming to nigeria to make funny comments about Jonathan govt. apc sponsored a journalist to attack Jonathan in US United nations meeting. apc sponsored bills in US senate for arms not to be sold to nigeria. Go do your research, ask Sahara report Etc etc If you pay media they will do your bidding Fox News is for trump, CNN is for Biden it's a game When tinubu was lamenting in Ogun state, he knows how much went into propaganda alone both for local and international media and lobbyists. Though it was Lagos state money and done sw states funds obi loud mouth who salivate and masturbate on issues like this, hope he has gotten the resources to carry it on the money your god don't want to pay delegates he will pay for propaganda media. Can your god beat apc to their game? Can obi sponsor a nationwide protest, such as "save nigeria group"? You people are just living in a fool's paradise 1 Like 1 Share |

IBBG: “ The IRS secured warrants in January 1992 to seize almost $2 million, according to court filings. While living in Chicago between 1989 and 1991, Tinubu had deposited more than $1.8 million into one of the accounts, before transferring large sums to another bank, according to the US government’s complaint. While disputing the US’s reason for targeting the accounts, Tinubu settled in September 1993, agreeing to give up $460,000 to the US government in exchange for the release of the rest of the money. Tinubu wasn’t indicted over the matter” Ask any Nigerian-American, they will tell you taxes in the USA is complicated for Dual-Citizens. When IRS is involved in any money issue, it’s tax related not crime. They felt there’s a taxable income you’re trying hard to protect. All Americans know how to re-invest their money to afford taxes and it’s not even illegal. Even Trump and American wealthy people do that every time. |

I don't think the report is about presidential candidates. It only focused on those with corruption cases. If Obi or any other presidential candidates weren't mention, it might be that they do not have corruption cases, or they are relatively clean as far as the article is concerned. Emilokoiyawon: |

It only focused on those candidates with corruption cases, not just all candidates. If Obi or any other presidential candidates weren't mention, it might be that they do not have corruption cases, or they are relatively clean as far as the article is concerned. It clearly stated bubu age as in the 80s, Atiku's age as 75 and Tinunu's age as 70 years. GloriousGbola: |

Bashir75: Oga, USC 1956 and 1957 are about funds derived from narcotics or unlawful activity. Mr. Tinubu's settlement wasn't about taxes. No indictment needed as the case did not get to the stage where a grand jury becomes necessary. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1956 https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1957 https://www.plainsite.org/dockets/2jqi9omh8/illinois-northern-district-court/usa-v-acct-263226700-et-al/ Nothing surprising here though. Nigerians appear to have an undying love for corruption.

sanerugwei: nonsense. Read the articles again. The author plainly said the contenders are Tinubu and Atiku. Those are the contenders the world recognizes. Peter Obi is a pandora thief and should have been mentioned if his candidancy was worth any attention. |

Re: Nigeria's Presidential Candidates And Their Corruption Allegations - Bloomberg by smileyoo: 3:54pm On Jun 22, 2022 |
but it's not only Nigeria leaders that are corrupt, the citizens are equally corrupt. it's can only take corrupt followers to encourage corrupt leadership. that these two corrupt entities have successfully taken over the current center stage of our national politics, simply means that nigerians have finally accepted that corruption is part of our national life, that can never be changed. the world can all see how our politicians effortlessly purchase our voting rights, with peanuts. it's like we have accepted corruption as our national policy, but accepting citizens to be mudered with impunity by bandits and terrorists, is the more bizarre aspect of life, that the world need to focus about in Nigeria. |
