Lies. Are you his lawyer. A homeless boy does not know the word asylum or how to ask for such protection in a strange land. Am happy he was arrested stupid leader. If our hospitals are well funded and doctors properly renumerated then he would have had the operation done in nigeria and nobody will arrest him. God is on the boys side. Jail time loading.

Sad situation!

He's got all the resources to do it legally but why does he resort to this?

What becomes the condition of his sick child after this avoidable publicity?

Kept asking myself several questions as to why taking this route...

The biggest loser in this case is; the boy allegedly trafficked, the sick child and Nigeria at large!

Did you say the trafficked boy is among the losers? That boy's life is changed forever for the best. He's not coming back to this shithole for a long long time.

The charges levied against them are also linked to modern day slavery.

It's likely they not only wanted the boy for his organs but also wanted to use him as a house boy/modern day slave.

Isn’t it good for many of these do nothing and untouchable Nigerian politicians to face reality in normal foreign Countries like UK.
Both of them may be in serious trouble but we’ll see what happens.

What has good hospital in Nigeria got to do with organ harvesting?
His child won't need organ again or organs will be readily available in Nigerian hospitals?
Can you explain pls.
if the organ harvesting happened here in Nigeria, Ekweremadu wouldn't be in this mess.

They are quick to run to London because they they know the comatose state of our hospitals.

Perhaps you are over-educated to consider that the parent of the minor might consented to the "offer". Guess someone need civility in attending to issues and not emotionally disoriented!

Which makes it more cruel and a serious case of human/child trafficking for a parent to give consent of their under age child for his organ to be harvested is appalling. You know nothing about human right law. If the parents were in UK they would be jailed for a very long time and lose custody of the boy for selling the boy for money, they don't deserve to be parent. Again, educate yourself.

One of Ike Ekweremadu's daughters has kidney problems, and has been on dialysis. They 'contracted' a 15yr old homeless boy from Lagos to harvest one of his kidney. In return they promised him a better life. Next they illegally obtained passport stating the boy was 21.

Unfortunately for them, on getting to the UK the doctors refused to proceed with the operation having been alarmed that the boy in question was a minor and cannot give consent. That was when it began to unravel that it was a case of child trafficking for the purpose of organ harvesting.

I honestly can't blame him.....this is just a sad story of a father trying to protect his daughter.......no man would want to watch his daughter die before his eyes.....they must have been looking for a kidney match for so long........ probably the poor lad got scared and came forward with the truth.....to have your kidney removed even in one of the best hospitals in the world is no small job.......it can be scarry especially if you are the one whose kidney is about to be removed.

Sad is the situation of things and how bad it has become that a seating senator for over 20 years could not advocate for better healthcare in his home country that he had to be arrested trying to be sleazy. Look, i dont have your time as you are barking at the wrong tree. Have a bone.

All adults in uk are eligible by law for organ donation once dead except you objected. Your choice wil be respected.

As early as 12yrs, only in this case, there will be consent by parents or ward but once you reach 18 and is not suffering from some particular ailments, once you kpeme, they will share your organs to the living kiss

Ekweremadu, Wife Denied Bail by UK Magistrate’s Court

ARISE International correspondent, Adefemi Akinsanya reports on the arrest of Nigerian Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife by the UK police for allegedly taking and underaged boy to the UK for organ harvesting. The Ekweremadu's have currently been denied bail as investigations into their role in the case unfolds.
they say who the gods want to kill he first make mad! He is a multi billionaire and the wise thing to do is to fly the surgeon from any part of the world so that the surgery can be done secretely in any private hospital here, i believe he was desperate and also took the risk because the organ receiver was his daughter. This man is finished and nothing go save am from this one! Chai!
