Chairman of ‘The Osun Progressives,’ a faction in All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Lowo Adebiyi, on Sunday said no reconciliation yet between the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola and the state’s Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

The Osun Progressives, backed by Aregbesola during the last governorship primary of APC in the state, had supported ex-Secretary to the state government, Moshood Adeoti, against Oyetola, who eventually won the party’s ticket.

However, pictures of Oyetola and Aregbesola locked in warm embrace had on Sunday surfaced on the social media with accompanying words suggesting that the two men had reconciled.

But when contacted for a reaction, Adebiyi said members of Ileri Oluwa, the campaign group of Oyetola were circulating the pictures.

He said no reconciliation yet between the two men.

“They are old pictures. Members of Ileri Oluwa group are behind it. Disregard them. If there will be reconciliation, it is not pictures that you will see first. The discussion will be held first. No discussion yet. Nothing happened. No reconciliation yet,” Adebiyi said.

Aregbesola, Oyetola Reconciliation A Ruse – APC Youth Leader

Mr Seun Abosede, the State Youth Leader of the Hon. Rasaq Salinsile led faction of the APC in Osun State has described as untrue, the report that the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his successor, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, have settled their differences.

Abosede, in a statement today, stated that the picture being circulated on the social media where Aregbesola and Oyetola were hugging each other is an old picture, saying the minister never met with Oyetola in recent times as regard settlement of the crisis in All Progressives Congress in the State of Osun.

According to him, the people circulating the picture are same set of people who had crucified, badmouthed and lied against Aregbesola to achieve their selfish goal, saying they should bury their heads in shame for smearing the former governor’s image.

“While we are not opposed to genuine reconciliation of both Governor Oyetola and Aregbesola’s camps, the picture being circulated by the “data boys” is not only misleading but mischievous”.

“The people behind the circulation of the picture should be humble and sincere enough to initiate a reconciliation move of they so desire. We considered the widespread circulation of the picture as tricky and an attempt to blackmail the minister.

“The general public should please disregard the fake news”, said Abosede.

Aregbe needs to reconcile in order to stay politically relevance, atleast to continue is godfatherism in osun state

He knew there is likely chance for tinubu to win through rigging though
through this,he could still be relevance at the national level

He knew once buhari administration is over,it's done for him politically.... I can bet with my scrotal,he initiated the reconcilation for his selfish interest

We don't care about their reconciliation. All we care about is good governance.

A better Nigeria is what we want.

Most of their friendship is for personal gain and to steal the treasury purse dry.

One of Aregbe’s foot soldiers decamped to PDP last week. I watched the guy dancing with Demola Adeleke in a PDP rally.

It’ll be very difficult to reconcile the two because conditions to absorb Aregbe’s boys into the cabinet of Oyetola will be too high to meet.

Aregbe’s boys are already decamping.

Osun PDP Caretaker Committee Meets Party Elders, Harps On Unity...

In furtherance of efforts of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party to present a united and formidable front in the July 16 governorship election, Caretaker Committee of the party on Sunday met elders of the party at the residence of elder statesman, Dr Olu Alabi.

Led by the state caretaker committee chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle, the Committee after careful appraisal of grounds of advise of the elders to assist the party and enhance cohesion in the coming election, promised to expedite action on the outlined areas of concern.

Alhaji Fatai Akinbade and Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo who spoke on behalf of the elders advised on the need to work together as a united team in order ensure the needed victory is delivered to the good people of Osun State. The two party stalwarts warned against politics of majority, but instead work assiduously to attain a winning level of totality, which leaves no one behind in the hunt for electoral success.

While assuring the elders of their rightful place in the scheme of things henceforth, Dr Akindele and his Committee members appealed to them to stomach their grievances as true fathers of the family, whose house they contributed immensely to put in place.

The next round of talks which is expected to hold in the next 48 to 72hours is expected to have a broader format that will see the elders across board work in unison to salvage Osun State from the ruinous grip of APC.

26th of June,2022.
