2023: We will kneel, beg Wike not to dump our party – PDP

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Walid Jibrin has claimed they will do whatever it takes to ensure that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, doesn’t defect.

Jibrin stated this on Monday while addressing journalists in Kaduna.

Wike lost out to former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, in the PDP presidential primary.

Following his loss, Wike accused party stakeholders from the south of “betrayal”.

His frustration was made worse when Atiku snubbed him as running mate and picked Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Following these developments, there have been speculations that Wike may dump the opposition party, having been visited by Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), respectively.

But Jibrin said: “We in PDP know how to solve our problems. We know that Governor Nyesom Wike may not be happy.

“It is the intention of this party to constitute a reconciliation committee that will meet Wike to talk to him, appeal to him, and pray that he will not leave our party.”

Jibrin described Wike as “a great man who has been fighting for the party, and the party will not want to see him move to another party”.

“We will all visit Wike together and if it means kneeling to Wike, we will kneel for him,” the BoT chairman added.

Wike is OBIdient. PDP should leave him alone.

Wike will never dump Pdp for any party in Rivers State. First and foremost, Pdp is strong in Niger delta and also Pdp will produce another candidate that will succeed Wike in 2023 poll. Wike for victories in Pdp.

Why won't you kneel to beg him to remain when we all know you people need Rivers money badly to continue to finance your traitorous lives.
After you openly betrayed and rurbished the single most loyal and most important financier of ur useless party, now you want to kneel to beg him to stay. If he was so important why did you stab him twice in the back within a short time

yes soo. It’s the electorates that determines the winner. It’s the people that formed structures in all the wards in the states of the federation. Labour Party is no where to be found on that.

And who are the labour party voters in those states? Are you talking about the few Ibos living in those states. Well, I'm not surprised. You know you people somehow think that the population of ibos across the country in various states outnumbers the population of the indigenes of those States
