The goalkeeper of Heartland went down for a total of 3 times in d first half before he was stretched out and replaced. Total time he spent on only his stoppages was over 8minutes.I timed it myself.

Second half, the replacement keeper for Heartland went down again for minimal contact, and stayed down for about 7minutes. Later in d game, Lobi stars keeper was injured and stretched out to be replaced, he spent 6 minutes on the turf. Heartland spent over 5 minutes protesting a penalty awarded to Lobi stars, and replays show it was a clear foul. 7 substitutions were made in the second half.

Total stoppages in d second half was over 25 minutes.

Unless referees start dishing out cards for incessant delay tactics carried out by teams, the quality of the league will still be shallow, and these stories will continue to emerge.

When a field of play is enthroached by fans, the referee stops his watch till normalcy is restored but media houses and social media don't have such luxury.

The normalrcy must have taken up to 30mins before the restart of play but the public only sees the delay if not watching the live match or in the stadium.

In summary, there was no 36 mins extra time.

If u check the time of the remo stars goal, it was 2mins into extra time..

If there was any encroachment of any sort by fans of home team, the officials should have end the game.

There was no need to resume play even if it was for 30secs.

Why not. The Nigeria factor is always in play especially for home teams.

LMC is not proactive enough for all these anomalies to be happening from time to time

(1) Did the referee signal the added time before the goal?
(2) What was the added time?

If that's what truly led to that massive extra time then it is negligence of duty on the part of LMC. If the LMC officials were alarmed and concerned as they ought to be, they should have put an emergency call through to its match officials who are live on the pitch for information to enable them clear the air on that very Sunday evening before the media and public would start questioning the timing. Clearing the air several days after the incident is rather poor.

Moreover, all the negative publicity generated by that extraordinary extra time should have been avoided if the Twitter handles of either Katsina United or Remo Stars tweeted about that pitch invasion and the fact that the match was held up.

Going forward, LMC officials should as matter of duty keep tabs on all live matches on every match day for any unsavory incidents like violence, medical emergency and pitch invasion, etc. in order to stay on top of such issues. Even the match officials on the pitch should file emergency report to designated LMC WhatsApp account when an unsavory incidents occurs.

The fans seized cameras and beat up people. The officials were probably scared for their lives. The Naija league body are not strict enough.

How less than 1 minutes extra time before the equalizer turned to at least 10 minutes still baffles me. The LMC should rule the match a draw so other teams would learn.
