It simply shows the REC is conversant with the provisions of the law and is no pushover. There is no hatred or lawyer play here!
Akpabio and APC should stop deliberately perpetrating fraud and attempting to foist it down the throats of institutions and the citizens! If they'd done the right thing, no one will challenge them.

Alright... But here's the twist of the matter. Some people are of the opinion that it was a clear issue of the contempt of court for Mr Igini not to have recognised Akpabio's chairman, since the court had earlier recognised him. So, whatever outcome from their primaries would be accepted. What is your take on that?
The State APC really had nothing substantial to do.

INEC deals with the National Chairman of the Party: The Supreme Court has said many times that the State doesn't conduct Primaries but the National. The National determines date and mode of primary. The State Chair only provides Venue most of the times, when it is indirect.

Ekanem provided a Venue, Akpabio's Chairman had another Venue. So Igini called the man who came from Abuja to conduct the election and told him that he will respect the venue of Ekanem. The man said he will get back to the REC after confirmation from National. Only the National could override sane.....He never did and INEC didn't monitor. (That's for Governorship).

For Senate, a duly conducted Primary was held.
The APC cancelled the Primary....this used to be the norm before this new Electoral Act. The same problem is in Ebonyi PDP, Ebonyi APC & Edo PDP. For a rerun, the winner has to withdraw then only those who participated in the first one will re-contest.

Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed made sure only one person picked their respective forms so withdrawing wasn't a problem. In the case of Akpabio, at least three persons contested and there was a winner who didn't withdraw, only for the Chairman to cancel it. So, what is the role of the State Chapter in it?, nothing.

Assuming but not onceding that Igini was wrong.....the Appeal Court ordered that Ekanem should be in-charge pending the determination of the suit. They held primaries on the May 27 while the case was on and Udoedehe withdrew his suit on May 31. Which will Igini have obeyed?

Omo! see the fraud of the highest order, they took 1000 votes from Agustine Ekanem who had 1278 votes, and added to Stephen Leo Ntukekpo who had 006 votes to make it 1006 votes. The rule of law must prevail. Barr Mike Igini is a true Democrat, a man of integrity and the type of REC that fit with our current sets of corrupt political elites. Keep doing the good work, Sir.
