WHAT ARE YOU OBIDIENTS THINKING YOU ARE UP AGAINST?

Are you thinking that they will sit quietly and watch you take away their space?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you take away their structures (people)?

Are you thinking they will seat quietly and watch you shoot down the 50year old lies they have used to keep Nigeria and her children in bondage?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you take the 'food' out of their mouths?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you threaten their 'Oil theft pipelines'?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you open the eyes of millions of 'blind' Nigerians?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you free the Youth to take back their country and their future?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you build Common Grounds OF TRUE UNITY across North, South East and West?

Are you thinking they will sit quietly and watch you destroy the 'Mafia Structure' they took over 50 years to build in order to enrich themselves, their families, friends and their servants at our expense?

IF YOU ARE THINKING THEY WILL SIT QUIETLY AND WATCH YOU DO ANY OF THE ABOVE AND MORE, THEN YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS AHEAD OF THE MOVEMENT IN THE COMING DAYS.

Videos have started reeling out and flying against Peter Obi. Expect more.

Articles are already being published against Peter Obi on mainstream media and on social media. Expect more.

Preachers are beginning to preach against Peter Obi from the major religions. Expect more.

The Obidients are already being labelled as ignorants, violent, aggressors, tribalists, 'Christian Crusaders', Biafrans and their gullible sympathizers, and so on. Expect more.

They are spinning a new, false and dirty history of Peter Obi. Expect more.

Expect the bad,
Expect the ugly,
Expect the evil,
Expect the gory,
Expect the violent
Expect the scandalous

PREPARE YOUR MINDS FOR THE WORST IN THE COMING DAYS.

You will see things. You will hear things, even from some of Peter Obi's brothers and sisters.
However, when you see or hear or touch things that they bring up in order to quench your spirit or slow down the momentum of the Movement or shoot down the movement or discredit Peter Obi and the Movement,

TELL THEM THIS ONE THING ONLY:

WE WERE NOT LOOKING FOR A HOLY, SAINTLY, PERFECT PERSON. WE WERE SIMPLY LOOKING FOR A FAIRLY CREDIBLE, DECENT, PATRIOTIC AND PASSIONATE RALLYING POINT AROUND WHICH WE WILL NEED TO MOBILIZE NIGERIANS TO TAKE BACK THEIR COUNTRY AND WE FOUND THAT IN PETER OBI AND THERE IS NO STOPPING US.

I even pity Peter Obi because this thing has gone beyond him.
IT IS NO LONGER ABOUT PETER OBI AGAIN SEF neither is it about the Labour Party.
IT IS ABOUT A NEW NIGERIA AND A NEW WAY OF DOING THINGS, especially politics and leadership.
SHIKENAN!
PERIOD!
God bless you, God bless Nigeria.

And I laughed

I watched the interview Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso had yesterday with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels TV.

I was bemused at Kwankwaso’s deliberate mischief and misinformation about the South-East chances of winning with Peter Obi in 2023 under the Labour Party. Kwankwaso spoke almost articulately, calm and collected but betrayed a Machiavellian purpose in his answers to Seun’s questions.

Alluding that ’The North’ will not vote for a South-Eastern candidate when they have a choice on the ballot box with their own Northern candidates is as irredentist as he meant to sound. Trying to sound off an amorphous ‘One Nigeria’ Mantra as an excuse, it was clear that he was trying to belittle Obi and his impact thus far and pass himself as the surest gateway to victory at the polls, only if Peter Obi agrees to be his running mate in a proposed NNPP-LP election alliance.

Alhaji Buba Galadima, a now Chieftain of the NNPP, was also on Arise News this morning where he expressed same sentiments as Kwankwaso and even suggested that the Southeast is not in the power sharing equation of Nigeria right now.

Those assertions by Kwankwaso and Galadima made me both sad and enraged. As with the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, the NNPP’s Kwankwaso obviously has no sense of equity and fair play concerning rotational presidency and believe that a behemoth ‘North’ will always ride roughshod over the South in National Elections. If the likes of Kwankwaso are fair to themselves, they will agree that it is the turn of the South and even the Southeast and work out a formidable arrangement for the due equity.

But they prefer to play The Ostrich Politics.

And here’s what I would say concerning Kwankwaso’s ambition; he will not be President in 2023. That is clear and sure. He’s only popular in a zone in the North and lacks the National appeal needed to win an election. The same pitfalls he accuses Obi of having (no inroads in the North) is what Kwankwaso lacks in the South. In fact, Kwankwaso needs Obi more than Obi needs him.

I spoke to a top strategist in the Obi Campaign who’s in touch with Peter Obi this evening and he was quite amused at what Kwankwaso said on Channels TV

‘Charles, in a few days Peter Obi will announce his running mate from the North and it won’t be Kwankwaso. That I can tell you for sure. These guys don’t know that Obi is a movement. Or maybe they know it and they are scared. What Obi has achieved in just thirty-five days since he left the PDP is startling the opposition in other parties. Obi will not be VP to anyone and he is determined to run this race till the very end. This is beyond even winning the election. This is the movement Nigeria needs and the youths, the frustrated citizens, the poor Nigerians and the business men in Nigeria and many others home and abroad have chosen Obi as the bastion of a New Nigeria’

‘So, the alliance with NNPP with Labour Party will not go through?’ I asked again.

‘If Kwankwaso agrees to be Obi’s running mate, it will go through. I can tell you that anyone Obi chooses as running mate in the next few days will make as much impact as we desire because the Obi Movement is huge and keeps growing and growing. Let me tell you, we have people from the North building the awareness over there and many Northerners of objectivity are with Obi. Do you know Obi has not spent any of his funds on this campaign so far? Everyone coming to us want to donate. The students, the traders …name it. Not to talk of the billionaires, so many billionaires asking to donate and fund expenses. And the beautiful thing is that these people are doing this selflessly. No one is asking for money. Everyone believes in Obi.’

I believe that and I am in the know that the Obi Campaign will unfold the most innovative and impactful campaign train when the campaign seasons begin in September.

This has gone beyond Peter Obi. It is the movement of a new nation from the ashes of rotten system.

Before they start pushing a false narrative about Peter Obi, I would like to say one thing about him. I was in charge of Fixed income securities of an investment bank during his tenure. Peter Obi and my boss are very close friends, their relationship goes way back. We needed Peter Obi to sign off on our proposal for the state to take loans in terms of Bond. State governments that were not as economically viable as Anambra were taking advantage of State Government bond wave at that time. Mr. Peter Obi bluntly said that he would never leave the state in debt. Peter Obi could have gone ahead to take the bonds which his counterparts were doing back then, but he turned it down in the interest of the state, he could have made billions but he chose the interests of Anambra citizens over personal gains. I have a few good things to say too about him, especially his humbleness. That man is humility personified. I have not decided if I would vote for him or not yet but I needed to put this out there for record purposes before false narratives starts flying around about him. My name is Wale Akala.

My office was in search of a video editor years ago. We advertized in the media and many people showed up for interview. It was a scarce venture at that time.

Unfortunately none of the people who came for interview knew about 'After Effect' which was one of the major packages listed on the requirement tablet.

We needed someone who was very competent and very conversant with all the packages.

A week later, a teenager showed up. I thought he had come to make an enquiry but was shocked to hear that he came for the interview.

"What interview?" I echoed with heightened curiosity.

"Video editing," he responded without much emphasis. I thought he was joking.

I asked how old he was and he said he was eighteen with a school cert as his qualification. I just felt he was a joker.

In no time, he sat on the chair facing mine and exhumed his laptop from his bag. Minutes later, he was showing me what he knew on my desk in his computer.

Soon, all the members of the management team stood listening to the boy as he lectured everyone of us on all the things he knew; and he knew more than we could imagine - more than everyone we had interviewed for the job.

My boss asked how much he would take if we employed him and he said he would rather we negotiated with him on a contract basis. He dictated all the terms. He would come only three times a week. And he wanted to be paid two hundred and fifty thousand naira! My salary at that time was not up to half the amount he requested. It was an outrageous sum.

We pleaded with him to come down a little but he was not willing to go down lower than that. He said he was already making over three hundred thousand naira monthly from the jobs he did for churches and pockets of other organizations. We needed him badly. We didn't want to let go.

My boss called for a meeting immediately the boy left us.

"How are we going to pay him?" he asked.

I came up with an idea to salvage the situation. I suggested we advertize in the media that we would hold lectures for candidates who were interested in video editing and we could then raise money from the students to pay the young man. Again, our in-house computer gurus could also learn from the young man and take over from him in the event that he decided to go.

My boss bought the idea and we immediately swung into action. We called the young man and told him of our plans. He didn't mind so long he would get his pay. He demanded we get a projector. He didn't mind that most of his students were going to be more educated and older than him because he trusted his abilities.

We did radio jingles and our phones began to buzz incessantly. People were calling from every nook and cranny. The first set of students we admitted for the first week fetched us 1.8 million naira. The course was for three months.

In six months, we had made over ten million naira from video editing students.

Why am I telling this story? Because most of us have not yet realized that crude oil can't put food on our table as much as human capital development would. When we train one person, it has a ripple effect because many more people will gain from him or her. But when we ship a barrel of crude oil abroad, it does not come back again to us.

This boy who turned things around for us at the office then did not come from Jupiter. He came from Anambra state. When we asked how he came to know all the things he knew, he revealed that the state governor had brought in computer specialists to the state from Asia to teach them for free. As a beneficiary of this initiative, he was able to learn all the things he knew. And we too learned and gained a lot from him.

The governor of Anambra state at that time was Peter Obi!

Peter Obi might not know this but he gave a boy life and by extension indirectly trained more people and put food on their tables.

This is one of the many reasons why I will continue to respect that fellow. We must all learn to add values to our lives at all times because we are valued by the level of information we possess.
