Doyin Okupe on Channels TV this evening just said that the Labour Party and NNPP merger talks has been dead for four weeks. He said he led the delegation of Labour that spoke with NNPP delegation about the proposed merger and that when the NNPP divide didn’t see anything wrong in a Muslim and a Northwesterner succeeding another Muslim and Northwesterner, he simply called off the talks. Going ahead, he said he refrained from joining issues with Kwankwaso in the media out of respect for him but seeing that Kwankwaso was latching on the purported merger talks to draw media attention, it became imperative to clear the air. Dr Okupe said Peter Obi’s authentic running mate will be unveiled between tomorrow and Friday. Source: Channels TV. Both Rabiu Kwankwanso and Peter Obi know that a political marriage between NNPP and LP will win 2023 presidential election easily. By going alone, each may come short. However, there are two obstacles: - First, none of them wants to step back as VP due to ego. Having been Executive Governors with 'constitutionally stranded' Deputies, both Kwankwanso and Obi know how useless and helpless the VP would be once the election is over and kitchen cabinet (cabal) is formed. - Second, supporters of each want their candidate to run for president and nothing less or they will withdraw their support. Kwankwasiya movement believes they have existed long before the Obedients movement and therefore should produce the president. On the other hand, the Obedients rising from the ashes of Youth-driven EndSars protests want to make a statement with Peter Obi's candidacy. The reality is that Kwankwanso could see that a golden opportunity to capture power from APC is slipping away and he is restless or rather paranoid about it. He is wondering why Peter Obi can't see what he is seeing for himself and SE. However, Peter Obi on his part being scared of losing his organic supporter-base wants to give the battle his best no matter what the outcome will be. One thing is certain, if an alliance between Kwankwanso and Peter Obi is one that would have taken Nigeria forward, we may yet have lost the golden opportunity given the current mutual grandstanding. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

pinkPUSSY: We all know the game plan. Kwankwaso knows he can't win in the presidential election, yet he rejected to be VP to Peter Obi unless he's made the flag bearer of the meger parties. He remains adamant despite the popularity of PO nationally. Is the hand writing not already on the wall? Kwankwaso with his Northern cohorts want to scuttle the possibility of an Igboman becoming Nigerian president. Period! What they don't know is that it is God who installs kings, and he chooses whoever pleases him. Their antics will only lead to self regrets eventually because the so called "underdog" can pull a surprise that's both spiritual and sensual. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

CallYeNot:I will prefer Obi to pick his VP from NC.. Since 1999 none of SE and NC has been elected either president or Vice president. With NC vice Only will get up to 35-40% of votes there which will make to win NC.. SS 55% SE 75% SW 25% NE 20% NW 10%... 5 Likes 1 Share |

Imagine Kwankwaso banking on almajiris and uneducated Northerners for votes because they all pray together instead of unveiling his plan for developing the country. If not for religion and tribalism many presidential candidates cannot stand a competent election. 2 Likes |

Good news. Let everybody test their political weight this election. I've heard that Kwankwaso is a good man but I don't understand why anyone with a conscience will canvass for another NW Muslim president after the past 8 years. Na one region get Nigeria? Nigeria is too diverse. There has to be more inclusion of other groups. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Kwankwaso is over-rated, the imbecellic gandollar will still rape him politically again like he did in 2019 govnorship election, Kwankwaso will only win some local governments in Kano, Kwankwaso is a butterfly thinking he's a bird, Obi and Labour party did Him a life Time leverage by giving Him VP slot but the arrogant slowpoke Just missed a life Time opportunities, Besides APC and PDP is not even aware of his presence in The president race, Kwankwaso should bury His Head in shame. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Golan007: We both know that's not true. I'm not even a Tinubu fan, but I'll say that if there was no Kwankwaso in this race, it is as good as over for the remaining candidates.... Cos Tinubu will have a clear run Kwankwaso's presence in especially a high voting area in the NW is a big problem for Tinubu. |
