APC was the ruling party and the biggest party, so it made sense that everyone was focused on their primary. As for PDP, it was already clear that Wike had no chance so no one really cared.
Then Obi left PDP for the Labour party where he became the presidential flagbearer. At first, people spoke about him in whispers. Many saw him as an Igbo candidate. But gradually, we began to witness the rest of Nigeria accept him. He is now a major contender.
Its too early to know who would win but right now, its impossible to rule Obi off.
