Rewind to events before the infamous 2015 general elections:
The polity was supercharged. Every indices pointed to an impending doom if the north failed to have its way. The message in all schools, mosques and many public places organized by the northerners was geered towards forcing power to it. Only one name kept resounding- General Muhammadu Buhari. He was touted as the long awaited messiah to force a radical change in our economy, power sector, petroleum industry, corruption battle, putting an end to terrorism and even a much favourable exchange rate amongst others.

After 2015 to over 7 years after.
Right now Buhari has almost completed his 8 years tenure. His score card showed he failed in all the sectors. There is not one sector he could claimed to have bettered his predecessors. Rather every sector stinks of his body odour of cluelessness and utter inefficiency. He could not efficiently manage his boko Haram to effectively end the war. Instead, his northern states are all boiling pots of open insecurity. Most states in the north are now being run concurrently by both governors and bandits. Even in those sectors he managed to leave a mark are all reeking of massive corruption. Under his watch Nigeria came to be labeled a failed state and Capital poverty of the world.
What a shame.
I guess the important lesson to be learnt at least for now is to jettison the politics of ethnicity and probe for someone capable of pulling Nigeria from the deep rubble it finds itself.
