With this Asiwaju-Shettima ticket, APC has locked down its political edge in the top 3 zones with the highest population and number of registered votes; NW, SW and NE.

NC is predominatly in the hands of APC with Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Plateau and Nasarawa under APC governors while SS will be shared between APC and PDP.

Only South East which is the zone with the lowest population and lowest number of registered voters is in the hands of HE Atiku as usual.
