Why Are Tinubu Supporters Trying So Hard To Ethnicise 2023 Election? by zaki2: 9:53am On Jul 14, 2022
Observe their comments both on this forum and other social network, it's all pointing to one direction, ethnicity.
They don't sell the qualities of Bola Amed Tinubu, but his ethnicity. Most of his supporters doing videos online banked on why Yorubas should support Tinubu because he is son of the soil.
Pete Obi supporters cut across board. The Obedient Movement is basically hinged on competence, and Peter Obi has made it clear in his interviews. He hammers on his vision and mission, but that's not the case with others.
My question is, why not tell us the stellar qualities of Tinubu, and why Nigerians should vote for him, rather than his ethnicity?
Why not copy from Obi and make this election an issue based contest, rather than ethnic base contest?

Modified:

They attack Peter Obi movement and try hard to brand it an Igbo movement. Meanwhile, we have large numbers of Obedient and Peter supporters from the Yoruba ethnic group. Tinubu supporters should try and change tactics. Nigerians are fed up with ethnic based politics. If we must vote, it should be based on competence and capacity, not ethnicity.

Their oga can't address people for 10mins without speaking Yoruba also.

His campaign slogan is in Yoruba.

He is very tribalistic

Why are you surprised

It should be an issue based contest, not tribal nor religion.

Am sure you spent Atleast 5mins productive time of your life asking this stupid question

Why don't you use your productive morning to talk about your PitObi

Now to answer you, politics is about protection of your interest in governance

Ethnic white Americans always support fellow white conservatives and Christian fundamentalist

Coloured Americans migrants from other countries, Athiest, Muslims always support liberals and Democrats

British Royal family would never allow any other race black , Asian or Arab close to their bloodline or throne

Why should a Yoruba scholar, Cash crop farmer , entertainer vote for Atiku a Fulani herdsmen, or PitObi a trader?! That is conflict of interest with different ideology

Not only have they tribalised it, they also see obi as their number one enemy instead of atiku. They don't attack atiku the way they attack obi. You would think obi was the one in PDP.

the same way Peter obi supporters are making it religion base by shouting Islamization agenda n calling pastors derogatory names cos they don’t support Peter Obi

Check the politics section n see how igbos are limiting d election to religion base which will later come back to hurt them

Igbos are not the only group speaking against the all Muslim ticket. Check very well. Nigerians, including some prominent Yorubas are also voicing against it. Have you noticed that Obedient movement cut across Nigerian ethnic groups, including the south west?
I would like to see BATIST front issues, rather than ethnicity. Imagine, even Lagos state governor self. mitcheeew!

Labor Party just recently gained popularity less than 2 months.
Give it time, it will grow. The journey of a thousand league begin with a step.

That's the only card left for them to play and they tag it a winning strategy. If Nigeria burns tomorrow they are all going down. Even Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will die in Labour of fulfilling his life long ambition.

They have a rotten product that is not marketable, so they resort to primitive sentiments and emotions. Anyways, they can only succeed with the bigots and uneducated ones because no educated and sane person will vote for Tinubu and Shettima when Obi and Datti are available.

Go and research what Peter Obi did to MASSOB when he was governor in Anambra. That guy is more Nigerian than you. Bad governance is what gave rise to agitation. If the system is working, nobody will agitate.

Stupid revisionist write up. Igbos made Obi the Ibo candidate from the get-go.
People are beginning to see through your dishonesty. Now you want an issue based campaign, I thought Tinubu sweat soaked agbada was enough to get your candidate to Aso Rock villa. How many weeks did you spend on that nonsense?
Suddenly they want an issue based campaign!

He said this fielding questions on Arise Tv Morning Show.

“This election will not be based on ‘my turn’, ethnicity, and religion. It will be based on a Nigerian agenda to save this Nigeria. Nigeria is in a coma, and it needs a specialist, and that is why I’m offering to save its life or it will die. I’m appealing to people to vote to save Nigeria, and to save Nigeria is to hire the best.”
