No true. You are the one that comes across as insecure here.

The OP made a comment about his view of the 3 major tribes but you quickly diverted attention away from yourself (Igbos), as have become commonplace, and instead chose to denigrate the Yorubas, which is your way of feeling good with yourself. This is bigotry and inferiority complex.

True or not, the OP’s view largely aligns with the way most Nigerians (including Igbos) view Igbos generally, and you threw away the opportunity to change or at least reverse the narrative through engagement.

This same thing keeps happening, just like when Reno omokri praised the Yorubas based on his experience and feedback from foreigners, or when awards or accolades are given to Yorubas, most Igbos tend to lose their cool. The big question is, who really envies who, given the statistics and reactions that we can observe.

Bear in mind that, no person or entity can objectively review himself or tribe. Others must give you the feedback for balance and proper amendments to enable cordial coexistence, without which Igbos will keep making enemies of everyone different from them, whether home or abroad. This is food for thought!

I've also noticed similar reactions from my Igbo friend.

With all due respect, you're not close to describing the Igbo tribe..

Oh! You said your observation and that largely depends on who you've met and where you've been to.

Ayibanengiyefa:
Growing up to know these about the Hausa's Fulani:
Their nomadic life is exceptions
Very contented with whatever life brings to their ways, that's why you would heard them saying:”Isoro Allah=The Lord giveth an He taketh whenever He likes” on any misfortunes that befell them
You may be seeing them all over the places doing all kinds of menial and the so called dirty jobs(even some people, esp the most arrogant among the Nigerias tribes would or usually call them names in an abusive manners), they are the richest and most accommodative amongst all.
Though, the western education seems to be a taboo to them, they're are ruler and No 1 amongst the leaders of the educated.,while few that's privileged or put time aside to go to school is the brilliant and well positioned for leadership.
The most unified tribes are them and would or ready to go extra miles for any of his brother who's is being cheated, even if it's required killing in massive.
Western culture don't fancied them, they seems so contented with theirs,be it language, culture or style of living.
They hardly mix married,if they did and there's tribal crisis, the non hausa or Fulani wife or husband would be the first victim as a sign of their loyalty to the brotherhood. I have heard them did that in the times past, not knowing now.
Their religion is Islam and few that got converted may be considered as a bastard and he would be excommunicated or being killed.

The Yorubas( Ooduduwa descendants):
History and their traits shows their high level of intelligent and prowess
They are the most accommodative,be it Muslim or Christian
Western Education or Education of any sorts delights them, because their general belief is that :”the day you stopped learning is the day you starts dying”,so they take Education as a priority.
Their intelligent process does helps them to pay attention to details and for the due diligence; whenever there's a leadership challenges or when the country is at crossroads, they will be the one to proffer solutions like the ancient men of Issachar.
They don't much believes in luck or quick ways of getting results, but in patience and consultation.
The chief amongst them Is being worshipped by subjects because of his God's like ways of thinking and acting.
Their polygamous ways of life is due to their ability to manage situations without being called a fool at ends and for the reasons that “the more your subjects, the more your influence. Aside from Education, agriculture is another ways of life for the Yorubas, the old labours agriculturally through his farm produce to sponsor his children to school; getting more wives, more slaves gives him power to accomplishes his purposes.
Yoruba don't segregate, that's why no religion or beliefs is superior. This gives rooms for the families members who are either Muslims or Christians to live happily together with their traditional worshippers brother and sister ,under the same roof and compound without any rancor.
Parties and ceremonious worship is rampant and you can deduced from it how joyous they usually are. They believed in work, pray and play.
The Igbos
They're known to be the most industrious among all, their classic way of life is a result of the fact that you must get things done by any means.

Ibos don't beg for anything, they preferred going out of their way to get the solution than to bow
They are usually aggressive and violent, when you don't give way.
Ibos sees manipulation as a game and the more you devise a playing ways , the more you win.
To them,Flamboyance and lavishness is a sign that you are progressing.
No one is above another, everyone is a chief in igboland. The elderly ones, becomes subjects immidiately there's a ride of the once little ones.
They don't or hardly mix married. It's 1/20.
Though, they don't stay at home beyond probably age 12, you must make it and come back home to build house at least one.
They are mostly Catholics and traditionalist.
If they dies, they must be brought home for sacrifices and “proper” burial.
Ibos are dominatory, they sees every other person except their ownselves as a subject that must be conquered.
They hardly trust others, but you wouldn't know until something serious happens
They usually hates their true friends, easily forgot past helps and loves their glaring persecutors.
Their women are usually beautiful and sexy(yellowish in color), while their men is usually strong physically.
Money is what they systematically worship, you must get money.
Other tribes, believes that,if you have them as a tenant, you're in trouble.
Their desperation for power and lack of focus has relegated them to the level of an 3rd citizens in the Nigerias project.

The Yorubas don't believe in quick results?
Who are those doing skull mining in SW then?
You are yet to proffer solution to the mannequin you help to power.

If you read that so-called opinion, you will see the agenda behind it.

The dude painted Yoruba as the ideal tribe (he is a Yoruba man by the way) and painted Igbos bad with a lot lies.

To counter him, you will have to compare with his benchmark (Yorubas)

True or not, the OP’s view largely aligns with the way most Nigerians (including Igbos) view Igbos generally, and you threw away the opportunity to change or at least reverse the narrative through engagement.
The view aligns with how Yorubas view Igbos due to hatred. Their hatred made them eulogize Fulanis who has caused them a lot of harm and the denigrate Igbos, whose only crime is trading legitimately in Lagos and contributing to it's development.

I live in Lagos and I can tell you confidently that Yoruba mothers start training their kids to hate Igbos at a tender age. That's why a typical Yoruba person grows up hating Igbos while embracing Fulanis.

Tell me just one thing Igbos have done against Yorubas and I'll tell you 100 Fulanis have done against Yorubas and 10 Yorubas have done against Igbos.

Yorubas are too easy to remote control.

Read all the tweets where Reno praised Yorubas and you'll see he is not actually praising Yorubas but shading Igbos.

He started by praising Igbos while shading Yorubas, he moved to praising Yorubas while subtly shading Igbos and not, he is trying to incite the North against Igbos.

Only fools take Reno serious.

If someone gives a bad review about you and pass it as objective, you will know

He said Igbos leave SE before 12 years, meaning there are more children in the East than adults.

He said Igbos perform sacrifice before burying their people that is why we don't bury our people outside Igbo land

He said Igbos will do anything for money, yet crime rate and ritual killing is lowest in the East.

He said Igbos are domineering and manipulative, yet we don't form trade union for everything to overcharge customers

He said our culture promotes flamboyance, yet Igbos don't drive flashy cars and you won't even know a millionaire Igbo trader.

He said everyone want to become chief in Igboland and the youth overrides the elders, yet a young man can't wear red cap before the elders

Take your preaching to your brother. Yorubas hate us because we don't agree to their lies.

For example:

They told us Buhari is better than GEJ, we said it's a lie.

They said Buhari than Atiku, we refused

Now they are telling us that Tinubu Shettima is better than Obi and Yusuf and we are resisting.

If we decide to support Tinubu 100%, you will see all their hatred will evaporate us. They want to rule over us but we refused, that is why they say we are domineering.

They will appoint an Iya loja and we will reject it and appoint our own. They will ask us to join their union where they fix price, we refused and continue selling at market prices.

They will ask to vote Tinubu candidate, we refused and vote our mind.

All these things they pain una.

Oga, op claimed to be an Ijaw man….you should’ve just countered him without the Yoruba and owambe comparison. Totally unnecessary.

Op claimed Ijaw to spread his bigotry. An Ijaw man will NEVER register a moniker today and used it to bash Igbos.

He will rather use his old moniker so that you will know he is an Ijaw man.

The OP is a confirmed jagabandit

You support Obi/Datti but used the moniker IamAtikulate. Further reinforcing OP’s view about how Igbos behave.

We are aware that accusations have been leveled against Obi (by some of his people who claim to know his antecedents/roots) as being involved with drugs in the past, lower than average grade at school, his in-law jailed, dad murdered etc. In typical fashion, Yorubas have not made the issue their online anthem or special interest, even though they want the facts unearthed for all candidates including Obi and Tinubu. Yorubas always want the truth no matter whose ox is gored.

Incidentally, more Igbos continue to openly attack anyone that scrutinizes Obi, perhaps for fear of damning revelations being unearthed. This is while they inundate the online space with the barrage of allegations of Tinubu being a drug baron. This is in spite of various clarifications given by US and other relevant agencies that there are no criminal records against Tinubu in the US.

Most Igbos literally dish out what they can’t take, doing worse than those they accuse but still claiming to be the victims, especially whenever their actions backfire.

You mostly live in Lagos and other southwest states, where no one forces or restricts your movement or business. Other tribes praise the Yorubas for being very accommodating. But only the Igbos disagree, why? They constantly exhibit anger at Yorubas, deliberately trying to stoke tensions with their hosts politically. This is while the southeast region is under lock and key on some days of each week by different gangs. And because Igbos usually hailed these gangs in the past, they have now grown and fully mature (just like Boko haram) and have become a thorn in the flesh of the southeast indigenes, killing indigenes at will.

In another argument, some Yoruba leaders (Afenifere) support Obi without being attacked, banished or threatened by fellow Yorubas, but Igbos are threatening and even attacking other Igbos who choose or align with other candidates or parties other than their tribe’s, while other Igbos hail them. Joe igbokwe comes to mind. Today you love Afenifere because it is supporting you, but you will deeply hate the group once it stops supporting you. It appears you guys never tell yourselves the truth or simply cannot tolerate criticism.

Today most Igbos pretend and befriend Yorubas and others trying to get their support for Obi. One can only imagine the venom and invectives that will follow whether Obi wins or not.

About major wrongs by Igbos against Yorubas, are you not aware that:
1. Nnamdi Azikiwe rejected referendum clause in the constitution against wise counsel from Enahoro and Awolowo on different occasions. This has made it difficult for Yoruba and other tribes to renegotiate their interests in Nigeria.
2. General Aguiyi Ironsi promulgated decree 34 of 1966 ending the regional system of government that saw the southwest being ahead of some European countries, and far ahead of other regions in Nigeria in terms of giant developmental strides.

Both of these actors above were Igbos, and their actions caused the southwest the most setbacks and the most fundamental issue that plagues the nation today, which has adversely affected all Yoruba sons and daughters. Can anyone imagine the blackmail and repeated barrage of hatred from Igbos to Yorubas if Azikiwe and Ironsi had been Yorubas. However, Yorubas, in their amiable/conciliatory manner have not made this disastrous policies from Igbo sons a vengeful issue against Igbos. They do not even refer to those colossal errors by Igbos. Yorubas just strive to chart their own developmental course forward.

During the civil war, it is on record that Yorubas kept Igbo properties, took rents on their behalf and remitted the same to them (Igbos) after the war. But these did not appease the Igbos as Yorubas are the most hated by most Igbos. Incredible character Igbos must have.

So why not tell us what Igbos have ever done in a noble fashion for Yorubas or any other tribe in Nigeria other than hate and antagonism.

It is noteworthy that Yorubas are loved home and abroad because of most of the attributes listed by the OP, and that’s what Reno was referring to. Or are Reno and the foreigners that gave him the feedbacks he relays Yorubas? The same Reno praised Igbos too and was loved/hailed by them but when he dared to praise Yorubas- plenty trouble and invectives were hauled at him and Yorubas by igbos (in their most typical fashion). But you claim and form stories about Yorubas hating and teaching their children to hate Igbos, which is chiefly what Igbos do. And all available acts betrays the argument.

The question is why do most igbos get triggered by the success or recognition of success or influence of the Yorubas? Is this not bigotry, hatred and envy that is noticeable depending on each case?

The evidence to this assertion abound openly, online, everyday, everywhere. Yet you claim Yorubas hate you. Have Igbos been sowing love to Yorubas? Or is it Yorubas’ that are in Ghana, Thailand, South Africa, India, Dubai etc where Igbos are having serious issues with the locals and their police.

Igbos should learn to do unto others as they want others to do to them. This is the summary of the problems with most Igbos.

I hope you can now see clearly that it is Igbos that have the unnecessary baggage of hatred against the Yorubas.

You lie.

Igbos don't see flamboyance and lavishness as sign of progress. An Igbo trader with one million will be walking with slippers but you'll immediately recognize a Yoruba man with one million.

Igbos don't drive flashy cars more than Yorubas.

Our culture don't encourage us to show off wealth and be lavish, that is why owambe don't move us.

An Igboman with one million will NEVER use three hundred thousand for party for Yorubas can close their account just for party.

Sorry, everyone is not a chief in Igboland and the youths don't override the elders. In our culture, a son can't wear red cap before his father or become King when his father is alive.

Ooni of Ife is King over his father.

Another lie is that we don't inter-marry. Where do you get all these lie?

Just tell us you hate Igbos and stop hiding the lies you claim to be truth
but is it a competition between you guys and Yorubas? It's almost like you sleep Yoruba, eat Yoruba, dream Yoruba and think Yoruba. Because I don't understand. And the op is 100% right. And Igbo man likes to show off. If he doesn't show off expecially when he's in the village after going to Lagos he'll feel less of a man.

I won't say anything here.

Every Nigerian tribe accommodate strangers. But if you want to know if Yorubas truly accommodate people, visit their villages.

Judging from Lagos or their cities won't give you the true picture of things. Go to their villages.

For me, Hausas are more accommodating than Yorubas. Just stay out of their religion and women.

Yorubas are Western educated like other parts of the South. But if you visit their villages you will be shocked to learn a lot of them don't even understand English.

For literacy rate, the NW leads every part of the country. For ability to speak English, the SS leads.

They gave us Buhari and trying to give us Tinubu again.

Lies.

No tribe does juju more than Yorubas. And they don't believe someone can make it big without juju.

They can do juju for anything, including winning a girl. If you are a contractor, don't even drag contract with a Yoruba man.

If you have ever lived in SW, you will see sacrifice littered on every junction.

Correct.

They are polygamous because they are promiscous. It's only in SW you will see one woman having children for more than three men.

Also, most of their women give birth before marriage. Do you even know SW has the highest number of bastards in Nigeria.

The best polygamists in Nigeria are Northerns. They plan for it and not Yorubas that are polygamous by accident.

Foolish talk.

Yoruba moslems burnt churches in Ilorin. Are you aware of that. But for religion tolerance, they are better than the North.

Playing more than you work is stupidity. Yorubas can leave work to party.

Lies.

If Igbos are industrious because they most get things done by any means, why does SE has the lowest crime rate?

I believe this to be true.

I don't think this is true.

Igbo traders believe in free trade and competition that is why they don't join trade unions.

Manipulation is forming unions to overcharge your customers. Yoruba traders can kill you if you don't join their union.

If you see an Igbo millionaire trader you will not even know. Also Igbos don't drive flashy cars.

Lies.

You can't even wear red cap in the presence of elders. Also, Igbos have age group, so you already know where you belong.

Igbos inter marry.

They may not like marrying from other tribes but they marry among themselves.

Igbos even marry from other tribes and Oyibo that the way other tribes do.

Where do you get all these lies?

Are trying to say only children are in the East?

Catholic is 20% of the world population. As predominately Christians, they should naturally have many Catholics.

Which sacrifice? Where do you get all these lies?

Igbos love competition. Only those hate competition see them as domineering.

Igbos trust themselves more than they trust others. A lot of betrayals during the civil war made them so.

You are a Yoruba man. You just registered your moniker today to spew lies against Igbos.

Who are Igbo true friends? The Yorubas that starved three million of their people and seized all the property and gave them only 20 pounds?

Igbos have beautiful girls. It's not even a debate.

Yes. Money moves the world.

Lies.

Yoruba landlords in Lagos prefer Igbo tenants because they don't owe rent and NEPA bills.

Says a Yoruba man.

Your tirade against Igbos will not blackmail them into voting Tinubu. We know you are angry with Igbos for supporting Peter Obi
