Topic: How To Curb Boredom In Prayer?

Wow! It was another great moment in God's presence at LearnChrist bible study meeting as we x-ray boredom in prayer and how it can be controlled.

Boredom in prayer is simply the lost of interest, by way of feeling sleepy or tired or wearing during prayer, and not wanting to continue in the act.

No doubt, almost everyone reading this piece may have experienced boredom in prayer. I, as a person and a believer have experienced it.

But the big question now is, how then can boredom in prayer be curb? At LearnChrist, we began by identifying these two facts:
1. It is normal for a new convert to experience boredom in prayer. So also, is a not-growing believer. As he/she grows, the boredom becomes a thing of the past.
2. Boredom is a strategic demonic weapon of the kingdom of darkness. It is used to deter believers from praying, knowing the devastation that it causes to it's kingdom. So a sudden and unusual feeling of sleepy, tiredness and fatigue during prayer is demonic, except otherwise (health challenge). Take note!

However, on how to curb it properly, we noted amongst others that; * As a new convert, start by spending fewer time in prayer, then increase it as you grow spiritually - note that it takes self-discipline to grow spiritually.

This point therefore brought us to the issue of duration in prayer. How important is duration in prayer? Does God answers our prayer on the basis of duration?

At this point we ran out of time; as we hope to bring you details of how to control boredom in prayer and also discuss the importance of duration in prayer next week Thursday 21st July.
