I came across the tweets below of a Peter Obi supporter. The tweets were before and after Peter Obi became a major candidate in the coming presidential election.

In the first tweet, she was seen advocating passionately that she’s not supporting Obi because he’s Igbo but because he’s competent. She even went ahead to claim she would have supported competent Yorubas like Osinbajo, Makinde and Akin Adesina if they were in the race.

So, a little dig into her past tweets before the campaign started actually revealed an entirely different personality. Some months ago, this Obi supporter was all over the place calling Osinbajo unprintable names and abusing the entire Yoruba and Fulani ethnic group. She even took a swipe at the late Obafemi Awolowo. What’s more shocking is that she’s doesn’t even believe in Nigeria.

In her words, “the only solution to Nigeria’s problem is division”. So I ask, what has changed for all these Biafran agitators who are now Peter Obi supporters? Is Peter Obi an IPOB project? Has he agreed to breakup the country once he becomes the president?

To Yorubas, Fulanis and other ethnic groups that were dragged by this IPOB girl in the past, I urge us to forgive and forget. However, we must be circumspect in choosing who to support for president. Those advocating for the breakup of our country shouldn’t be the ones telling us who to vote for as president. Enough said!!

Peter Obi supporters are mainly IPOB sympathizers and vice versa. They are merely trying to hide behind a finger.

Some of us were politically active when IPOB emerged. From the beginning, it was clearly a sore losers response to the crushing defeat Jonathan suffered when he lost to President Buhari in 2015. Their knee-jerk reaction was initially a secessionist Lower Niger Congress (LNC) including some embittered Jonathanians in the SS who later got over their loss, leaving the SE to resort to IPOB under the now caged and contained terrorist, Nnamdi Kanu.

They simply couldn’t fathom the idea of being under the rule of a Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba government in which they were poorly represented, thanks to their unstrategic political choice of putting all their eggs in PDP’s rotten basket. They also had no idea how to go about political opposition in a civil way and this anger, confusion and frustration was harvested by Nnamdi Kanu who turned their raw emotions into a money spinning, hate-driven scheme and secession became their rallying cry.

Now in Peter Obi, they happened upon an ipob apologist that presents them not only a rare, unprecedented chance to pull themselves from political irrelevance in the short-term, but also hopefully implement their secessionist agenda in the long-term. Unfortunately for them however, the insults, hate speeches, ethnic profiling, wicked propaganda and bridge burning they engaged in for 7 years are the exact same thing that will nail and bury the presidential ambition of Peter Obi in a few months.

There is a solid reason Peter Obi has never condemned IPOB and trust me, he is going nowhere and the voting majority up North will ensure that.

1.Scottish agitiation for independence has been around for over 80 years.Things have been hot since the 1960's and 70's.

2.Before Brown became Prime Minister, the SNP had already gotten a devolved parliament, among other things, since the 1990's. Language rights even much earlier. (BBC has a Scots gaelic channel).

3.The referendum of which you speak of....was granted by a Conservative government, and the result of several decades of spadework.(Fun fact, the Conservative government was headed by a man who was pro-UK staying together, and who is a direct descendant of a past king of England)

4.Gordon Brown campaigned for the No vote in 2014. He was always pro UK staying united, even as PM. (After all, they voted for him as PM....). Canada had a Quebecouis PM back in 1995 when Quebec voted in an independence referendum...and the Independence vote lost, and the same PM camapigned against independence.

is nothing new ,Tinubu one's said he does not believe in one Nigeria, a leader in yuroba land ,today he want to be president of the same country he never believed in?
