There is need for ballot education and the political process in Nigeria on Nairaland Politics Section.

This platform is a huge congregation point in election cycles and many people are still deficient in political literacy and how INEC and the Parties conduct election and voting exercise.

It has been told thousands of times that candidates name do not appear on ballot papers, yet we still see posts asking if people will vote Obi on ballot, or vote Atiku or Tinubu on ballot.

Such posts ought to be closed and referenced back to a Ballot Education flyer in Nairaland (we need such).

People vote for parties on ballot paper. The candidates are nothing more than contractors or partners in proxy. Obi's name will never appear on ballot, instead LP name and logo will be on ballot. Illiterates will enter polling booth and get confused because they can't find Obi on ballot, and then flip a coin, head or tail, and then vote opposition party.

Same for APC and PDP, Tinubu and Atiku will never be found on ballot. Infact the ballot does not know who they are.

Confused as to what the voter education is meant to achieve, nairaland should be educating members here on how to vote on twitter or how to click 'likes' for their candidates, not how to vote in real life

I feel this is irrelevant because one doesn't know the method inec will adopt for next year's elections.

Inec seems to be changing things up to prevent rigging .

One needs to be careful because A thread like this could be used to enable rigging or educate riggers to plan ahead
