Russian President, Vladimir Putin has admitted his nation is facing 'colossal' problems due to the unprecedented Western sanctions over Ukraine.

The Kremlin chief said the West's sanctions had cut Russia off from major technology products and conceded the nation could not develop in complete isolation, but added it would be impossible to fully sever Moscow's connection to the rest of the world.

'This is a huge challenge for our country,' the president said today during a video conference with other Russian officials.

'Realising the colossal amount of difficulties we are facing, we will look for new solutions in an energetic and competent manner.

'Clearly, we cannot develop in isolation from the rest of the world, but we won't. In today's world, you can't just, you know, circle everything with a compass and put up a huge fence, it's just not possible.'

Many top tech companies including Apple, Microsoft and Intel suspended their operations in Russia or left the country altogether after Putin sent troops to Ukraine on February 24, leaving Russia with few domestic alternatives.

Putin also said that many fast-growing Russian firms in the sector, such as online retailer Ozon or internet company Yandex, had their growth stunted as their access to Western financing had been severed.

But the warmongering Russian leader said the nation would focus on developing 'sovereign 'technology and innovation from domestic companies, calling on the nation's finance ministry and banks to make plans for major cash injections.

'I very much look forward to detailed proposals from both the finance ministry and the Bank of Russia,' Putin declared.

His admission that Western sanctions are crippling Russia's tech industry came as EU foreign ministers met in Brussels to discuss fresh proposals of yet more sanctions.

Ministers from EU nations are reviewing a potential ban on gold exports, among other things, to further cripple the Russian economy.

The European bloc's foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said that at the moment 'the most important thing is a ban on Russian gold', which is Moscow's second-largest export industry after energy

I don't like Putin, but in the long run this could really benefit Russia. Nations need to learn that the globalized world order is set to favour the West. Nations need to start focusing on SELF REALIANCE. Starting with food (Grow what you eat, eat what you to grow), onto industry and technology. It's dangerous to be too dependent on the western markets and their economic model. They simply use it as a way to control other nations.

You will be in a small farm laboring with your hoe and axes without "globalized" world order.
China was humiliated by smaller European countries for isolating itself after attaining military and economic power,
so was Japan.

Even Putin clearly stated up there that isolation is bad and is not his goal because he knows the long-term
consequence.

Want to see effect of long term isolation, check North Korea.

Not True, in fact history shows that when many countries are forced to look inwards, they actually do ok. For example South African in the 80's was under international sanctions yet was able to dvelop it's own Nuclear weapons program. Iran has been under sanctions for decades let is developing drones and warships. Cuba was under US sanctions for decades, yet has one of the best health systems in the world

Please go and read your history. SA had a functional nuclear weapons programe in the 80's. They never tested a bomb, but they had all the components ready

See the below from Wikipedia
...
From the 1960s to the 1990s, South Africa pursued research into weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear,[2] biological, and chemical weapons under the apartheid government. Six nuclear weapons were assembled.[3] South African strategy was, if political and military instability in Southern Africa became unmanageable, to conduct a nuclear weapon test in a location such as the Kalahari desert, where an underground testing site had been prepared, to demonstrate its capability and resolve—and thereby highlight the peril of intensified conflict in the region—and then invite a larger power such as the United States to intervene......

Obviously, you haven’t been to Cuba so have no idea how rough things are.
I have and Cubans are still driving cars built in the 1950s and early 60s because there are restrictions on imports. The mechanics are using cardboard to make gaskets because they can’t get any auto parts into the country. They filter and reuse the same motor oil for years at a time. Doctors who work 12-18 hour shifts every day earn less than $2,000 a month. Cuba also sends doctors to work abroad and other countries pay the Cuban government $5,000-$7,000 a month out of which the government pays the doctors less than $2,000 and keeps the remainder. A can of tuna is too expensive for the common citizen to buy. A small can of sardines that would cost me $2 here costs the equivalent of $8+ over there. A chocolate bar costs the equivalent of $10 so a father earning the equivalent of $46 a month can’t afford to treat his wife or kids to a bar of candy. Thanks to communism, no matter how hard you work, your pay will be the same as the next guy’s. Their currency is the only currency tendered in the entire nation and when you try exchanging what you have left for dollars before you leave, you realize their currency is worthless. Women are melting red and pink crayons to use as lipstick. The internet is slower than dial up. The country’s infrastructure is crumbling, Cubans are risking their lives by getting on inflatable boats, attempting to make it to Miami. Sanctions are like a slow death filled with suffering.

But yes, great healthcare, right?

Below are the Google search results that he cropped to hide information that mirrors what I said. Below that are stories that he didn’t bother reading which correspond to his pictures, proving my point.

The embargo is still in place. A regular car that can be imported will cost around $200,000 so which Cuban is buying it?
In 2016, Cuba welcomed its first new cars since the 60s.

You didn’t even bother to READ any of the captions of the pictures you tried to shut me up with. Now read the caption on the picture YOU uploaded, same car THREE TIMES. And you DELIBERATELY cropped off the first picture that comes up in a search which has a price tag of over $200,000. Your pictures help prove my point, my guy. Now read the headline then tell me how Cubans earning such small salaries can afford $200,000 cars. Right, they can’t which is why they’re driving cars from the 50s and 60s.

I’m wasting time debating with someone who only knows about Cuba and the world outside of Nigeria by what he sees on the Internet and will move goalposts over and over to seem correct.

But among the relics, a clutch of Chinese-made Geely CKs and South Korean Kias have found a home, after new laws that came into effect in January removed the limits on car purchases for the first time in 50 years.

Even before the reforms, workers at government ministries were allowed to import the cars, meaning that 10,000 Geely units were already in the country, according to China's Global Times, which cited statistics from the car manufacturer.

The Chinese company accounted for 50 percent of car imports in Cuba by the end of 2013, according to the newspaper, equal to the combined share of Kias, Peugeots and other brands.

Actually South Africa did carry out tests with Israel and had 12 complete bombs

The fact that you used SA as an example shows how ignorant you are of international affairs.
SA did not develop nuclear weapons, Israelis were mostly behind it.

Moreover, if isolation is good, the apartheid which boast of highly skilled professionals will still be in charge of SA today.

In fact, a lot of struggle against apartheid involved pressuring the west to isolate them.
Every smart person knew that the apartheid was on its last leg when the west unanimously cut them off.

Cuba's regular propaganda is that America is not allowing it to develop due to isolation.

Another anti-globalization country is Zimbabwe, it has been ejected from the "world order" for decades
and ended up not being able to feed itself.
