Cv Versus Resume, What's The Difference? Click Here To Know. by Peculiariam(f): 12:36pm On Jul 20, 2022
CV vs RESUME, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Why do some employers request for a CV and others Resume?

Let's begin.

A Curriculum Vitae (CV) is a latin phrase for course of life, which contains a detailed history of an individual's professional and academic experience.
In a CV, an individual has the liberty to include his research projects, publications of his work, scholarship grants and fellowship, and professional affiliations. There is a lot of humble bragging going on in a CV.

Individuals who are Researchers, Professors, Doctors, Chartered accountants and the likes use a CV.

A CV can take more than a page and is usually long. It has to be in-depth.

A Resume on the flip side is a like a CV but shorter and doesn't contain an in-depth analysis of academic or professional experience. A Resume should at most contain a page or two and must be tailored to the job opening involved. It isn't wise to include your publications and research projects in a Resume because a Resume is synonymous to the word "Summary" and the document should be kept that way.

However, in some countries, CV and Resume can be used interchangeably, which is rare. But in places like the United States, some parts of Europe, and even the world at large, they are not.

People can lie in their Resume, but not in their CV, they'll be caught. CV is much more about the experience and exposure. While Resume is most often used to gain the experience and exposure to be included in the professional CV.
