This is a right move. It is sickening that the CBN Governor would brazenly display political partisanship.

Throwback:

Economy is nose diving due to a PDP appointee recommended to Jonathan by the likes of Peter Obi.
If you need a tutorial on how Emefiele was appointed, ask those that know!
Then the reappointment by APC as recommended by Tinubu because of bullion van, should be ignored?

And he's the one that recommended him?
We are still waiting for 1naira to 1dollar your paymaster promised!
Buhari has the right to sack him!!

Someone that should be sacked with immediate alacrity.

1USD is almost N700.

Omo, the effect on the common man in this country will be too brutal.

Please and please, Dont just plan to vote for a competent leader(Peter Obi) next year.Canvass and campaign ruggedly about him.If you dont, others will vote for a useless being it and will affect us all more.

What is weird is that at a time of high oil prices when dollars should be flowing into the country, rather than the Naira able to stand firm, it is rapidly declining.

The primary causes are :

1. An official exchange rate which is not market reflective.

2. The excess amount of money needed to cover oil subsidy amounting to over ₦4tr is simply not sustainable.

He was but Emefiele's incompetence wasn't glaring then.

How on earth can a CBN governor that met Naira to Dollar exchange rate at N151 and escalated it helplessly to N650, rise up and say he wants to rule same country?

I don't blame him.

In sane climes, he would have received 100,000 brutal and dirty slaps from people and locked behind bars.

No minister or head of federal parastatal should be allowed to vie for public office.

It shows that these rep members are ignorant or idle.
Its already stated in the civil service rules that a civil servant of which the CBN governor is is not to participate in partisan politics.

So what exactly are they trying to legislate on?

The painful thing is that Buhari has demystified the sanctity of institutions so his minions think they can also toe the same path.

Emefiele singlehandedly killed our Naira with his tenure starting from Jonathan's appointment in 2014 and Buhari's reappointment in 2019.

If he was nit reappoint, the south east will complain of marginalization, now they can see the mess up situation we found ourselves, that man is never good in terms of economic of the nation rather good in banking services.

This Godwin Emefiele is arguably the worst CBN governor Nigeria has produced and also unfortunately the longest serving CBN governor

The only success he had was destroying the Naira, freezing the account of EndSars protesters and tagging them terrorists and banning crypto currency

Tells you all you need to know about the APC and its useless ministers.
And next time, brother, stop trying to sound politically correct on stuff like this that is a given. Just say things as they are..
Emiefele is not ARGUABLY Nigeria's worst CBN Governor. EMEFIELE IS, WITHOUT DOUBT, NIGERIA'S WORST CBN GOVERNOR Ever!

Sorry for the delay.

You imagine if there are 2 shops side by side. Both are selling the same kind of bread. One is selling for N250 and the one next to it is selling the same loaf for N100, who will sell more ? Where will demand be very high? Who is losing lots of money? Do you think that business model is sustainable?

That is the problem the government is facing now is that since the government has refused to increase the price is petrol, demand has remained constant even in the face of sky high global prices. The government now needs far more dollars to import petrol than before. That is why this year, it says it needs over N4tr in dollars to import. Next, the subsidy will be N6.5 tr or so. This is more than what is spent on health and education combined. It is just a waste

I remember many years ago, this was probably during the Babangida administration, there was severe kerosene scarcity and there were massive queues at the petrol stations, of people waiting to purchase the commodity. Government suddenly increased the price and the queues disappeared overnight. I was shocked.

Thank you my friend. So if subsidy is gone demand will reduce and less dollars will be needed to import petrol. Na gode
