Wow! You don’t care that your people were killed just because it happened in Ondo, a southwest state. So far it happens in Yoruba-land right? Is this just so that you can gloat and make fun of Yorubas?

I hope you equally think Azikiwe paid the price for Igbos to suffer for supporting Tafawa Balewa to become the first prime minister (instead of being one himself as was offered by Awolowo). By the way, Azikiwe also refused referendum clause from being included in the Nigerian constitution pre-independence.

And hope you equally feel this same way about Aguiyi Ironsi changing the regional system of government to a unitary one through decree 34 of 1966. Or are you not aware that all regions today are clamoring for resource control and restructuring because of these actions by the 2 prominent Igbo sons who each had the rare chance of determining the fate of Nigeria at different times in our history?

Those 2 changed the course and trajectory of Nigeria so much so that today the southeast wants referendum (which Azikiwe refused) and have since joined other regions to clamor for restructuring / resource control, which their own son (General Ironsi) jettisoned without any impact assessment conducted.

If truly those 2 prominent Igbo sons’ actions have steered in you the same measure of anger, disaffection and frustration so much so that you think it is deserving that Igbos suffer for these blunders, then you do have a very strong case for wanting Yorubas to suffer for supporting Buhari in 2015. This is the only way we can make sense about a whole tribe suffering for the sins of a few of their leaders. Else, it becomes hypocrisy and bigotry.

This is to balance your sentiments properly.

Yorubas should be the ones hounding Igbos for setting back the southwest through their sons’ (Azikiwe and Ironsi) myopic policies, and not the other way round as we have it today. But victim mentality and wishing others different from you bad will help no one!
