English has a word for almost everything, which is good, but our native languages barely do. I'm Igbo. Words or names of things that are not native to the language are merely descriptive. E.g Ship = Ugbo Car = Ugbo ala Aeroplane = Ugbo elu. Strike = Nfanye aka n'ukwu (putting hands between vyhe legs ) I think we should try to learn more about words and names of things in our native languages. Maybe, also give names instead of descriptions to things. |
